Cask, gravity, at Bedford Beer Festival ’08. Copper colour. Sweet straw aroma, rough and barnyardy. Sweet malty taste, intensely pleasing and wonderful. Mid bitter finish. Up there with the best of English beers.

Tasted at the brewery (new cask) 23-01-09 and in bottle 25-01-09 The sample that I had at the brewery at 110 IBU’s courtesy of Nigel the brewer was a little more bitter than the bottle currently being consumed. Pours hazy light amber, aroma is lovely old leather and old oak wardrobe (I know that sounds strange but thats what I get) , touch musty but also with fruit and some alcohol. Initially sweet with banana and spices but the bitterness carries this along quite marvellously, lovely warmth from the alcohol, slight numbing across the tongue from the bitterness, sweet malts throughout, quite lovely. Many thanks to Nigel for the sample of this. A8 A3 F9 P4 OV17 4.1

After a long journey from my friend wyzzywyz22 in England. Very nice fruity aroma from cloudy amber pour with a fluffy white head. Nice lacing as it goes down. Flavor is quite different with a sweet caramel start followed by a nice hop bang with an alcohol burn especially as it warms. Finishes very dry.

Bottle. Orange and clear.Hoppy but not overpoweringly so. Medium body and a lingering hoppiness with no lacing. Not as good as most American IPA’s that I have tried but still quite pleasant.

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’09. Bronze with white head. Sweetness and nasal alcohol predominate this big beer, there is a vanilla, custard cream biscuit flavour to the beer with a cidery alcohol banging in. Some oakwood notes, almost barrel like. Sturdy beer.

Cask. Pours an almost clear deep amber golden with a rough off-white head. Very sweet aroma of peach and caramel. Quite full-bodied, flat, lots of peaches and sweet berries. Comes with a warming alcoholic finish. Excellent. 170110

Cask conditioned Gravity dispense Northants BF 2010. A golden coloured beer with a white ring of bubbles. An interesting sweetish aroma with booze and maybe a little honey. A long fruity taste. Opal fruits and marmalade. Very interesting and tasty. Would have preferred more bitterness and hoppy flavours but it is good.

A Mes rate: gravicask at Peterborough Beer Festival. Lovely bright gold colour with a good white head. Big and fruity aroma with a fairly high but very enjoyable level of sweetness. Similar flavour but with an unexpected but really interesting hit of whisky. Sweet, candy sugar notes and some really good fruit in the finish. A typical English strong but a very good one.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 wyzzywyz22 (1644) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2009
Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Poured a hazy bronze colour with a fading white head. Sweet, demerera and ripe fruit aroma with some leafy hop presence. Booze is pretty upfront in the flavour which is compensated for by the overall tasty nature; which whilst caramel malt heavy has enough hop character and fruit to make this a winner.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Alphadelic (1629) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 7, 2009
Bright gold, good nicotine-stained head.
Vanilla and hops on the nose.
Sweet and oakey vanilla flavours abound.
Tingly and smooth textured.
Good and rich with a hoppy bite.
