HopTown IPA, our flagship beer, has a rich, malty character, an alcohol content of 6.2% and a generous helping of hops (almost two pounds per barrel!). We use Galena hops for bittering and Cascade and Centennial hops for the finish and for dry hopping.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2005 draught: what I’ve been describing as a grassy aroma in IPAs has just occured to me as really being piney, like pine needles, Well this is superbly piney...golden color with thin insolation, Hoppy bitterness jumps right out in the flavor and continues to hop around until the end where it remains standing in it’s place, thus super hoppy from start to finish..HOP HEADS UNITE! beautiful

Light golden amber with a touch of amber, sticky lace froth frolics down the the sides of the glass. It’s got that grapefruit goin’ on in the nose. This is a strange IPA because the true bitterness of the hops doesn’t get to you for quite a while. It’s almost as if there’s a delayed reaction. This is a decent IPA, if I can get past this weird timing thing. It starts with a grapefruit sour burn, a bit of maltiness drifts by, then...wait for it....the afterhop twang.

Hoppy, fruity (pineapple) smell. Creamyhead fades down to a small layer atop a rusty-orange brew. Loads of hop spicyness with a bitter hop aftertaste. Slight fruityness runs in the background. great beer.

Features a lightly spicy, orange-citrus aroma. It is all-natural and made using two-row malts, Galena hops (for bittering), and Cascade and Centennial hops are added in a dry hopping process. I enjoyed this IPA for its lightly fruity, orange-like flavor and its dry, crisp finish. After drinking this beer, I tried Stone Brewing Company’s IPA -- slightly stronger at 6.9% ABV and dry-hopped for two weeks. Much to my surprise, I liked the HopTown IPA better than Stone’s IPA.

Too carbonated and spritzy for the style. The malt and hops are there, but they are completely unimpressive. There’s also a sugary taste to everything. Next.
