COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This mythological beer emerges from the depths of our brewery every winter. Made with Cascade, Centennial and Simcoe hops and six organic malts, “A-Bomb” has a complex floral, spicy and citrus hoppiness backed up by just the right amount of malt sweetness. 7.3% ABV, 17 deg. Plato, 70 IBU.

Poured from a bomber. Pours a clear reddish brown with a thin white head. Hoppy aroma with pine, citrus, and maybe some woodiness. Flavor starts with citrus notes, followed by pine, some light malt, and spices before a fairly bitter finish. Medium bodied with a little carbonation. Overall an intriguing mix of flavors that starts like a summery IPA and finishes more like a winter ale. I’d prefer more of a wintery taste throughout, but a very tasty beer.

Pint can. Nice dark amber color with a fine caramel head. Aromas of sweet citrus and straw. Hoppy off the bat with a sweet nutty finish, not too sweet though. Rounds out with a sticky resinous feel on the palate. Yeti another one please!

22oz bomber obtained through Tavour. Hopworks Abominable Winter Ale is a hazy nut brown brew with barely any head. Nose is lightly nutty with mild resinous hops and perhaps a bit of spice. Taste is a bit sweet with a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg, mild hops and slightly caramelized malts. body is medium to thicker with some silkiness. A nice higher alcohol winter warmer without too much spice.

Rating #1308. 29.10.2014 - Underground Tap Takeover. Lots of similar flavours on the palate to the barrel variant, lots of roast malt bitterness and very present rum sweetness, hoppy edge. Hops much more present on the nose and on the palate. Edgy, a little sharp, a little rowdy for a winter ale.
