Wasn’t sure on the style here, guessed IPA, I was wrong. Hoppy, lots of citrus hops, floral and great. I get very little malt from this, really enjoyed it though.

22oz bomber obtained through Tavour. Hopworks Abominable Winter Ale is a hazy nut brown brew with barely any head. Nose is lightly nutty with mild resinous hops and perhaps a bit of spice. Taste is a bit sweet with a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg, mild hops and slightly caramelized malts. body is medium to thicker with some silkiness. A nice higher alcohol winter warmer without too much spice.

Rating #1308. 29.10.2014 - Underground Tap Takeover. Lots of similar flavours on the palate to the barrel variant, lots of roast malt bitterness and very present rum sweetness, hoppy edge. Hops much more present on the nose and on the palate. Edgy, a little sharp, a little rowdy for a winter ale.

Tap at Bailey’s in Portland. A-Bomb, really? You think just because ARod played in the PNW damn near 2 decades ago that you get to use that stupid meme for everything? This is the 3rd beer I’ve seen in Portland today to have the same type of self-given nickname, and I want to vomit. Sorta clear amber pour. Mild dark fruit and malt. Palate too watery. Pass.

Marron pâle avec un petit col blanc. L’arôme du malt caramel, épices, et un peu d’agrumes. En bouche il y a du malt caramel, et quelque chose qui ressemble du malt Anglais. Pas mal houblonée pour le style.

16 oz can split with a friend. Pours clear amber with a white head. Pretty balanced out for a strong ale. Pretty hoppy with some cheese and a bit of nail polish. Drinkable.

[2/26/15] Draught at Hopworks BikeBar in Portland. Clear amber. Malty aroma with caramelly, biscuity, a bit fruity, with some hops. Sweet malty flavor, caramelly and biscuit, with some fruitiness and bitter citric and piney hops. Medium-bodied.

Tap at drakes. Tropical and piney hops. Dark Amber, golden lace. Piney start, medium full caramelly chewy body. Quite satisfying.

16 oz can- Pours slightly cloudy dark orange with a decent light tan head that slowly reduces. Aroma is hops, which is unexpected and welcomed, spicy rye bread, some caramel malts. The taste is similar to a red IPA, in fact it very much reminds me of Sierra Nevada Flipside Red, which is a good thing when your beer is compared to the masters at Sierra Nevada. Nice caramel malts blend wonderfully with the hops, good.
