Bottle, thank you Christian. Beautiful amber pour with a small white head. Great citrus and pine aromas. Like Lemmy himself, this Ace of Spades has a bite. Dank citrus and pine hops are kept from just overwhelming the senses by the big malty backbone. Great balance, great hoppy bitterness, just a damn fine DIPA. Oh and by the way, itís organic to boot! Hey-ohhh..

Bottle from Firefly, Vancouver
Cloudy orange-amber color; small head. The aroma is nice because itís not only hoppy, fruity, but also very sweaty, and fresh; grapefruit; very light tones of countryside, cereals, manure. Good body strength, toffee flavor, quite sweet but still with the mouthfeel agile (I prefer this than thick Double IPAs); prepotent hopping, with a balanced mix of fruity and resiny character. Luckily this is fresh, and really excellent.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes fruits, malt, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruits, straw, alcohol, malt, and a bit of alcohol, leading to a dry bitter finish. The alcohol burns slightly on the the tongue. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a cloudy deep golden with an off-white head. Fresh citrusy and piney hop aroma. Medium body, a little sweet caramel and fruit with massive herbal hop accents - almost medicinal. Very hoppy finish. Loads of hops here, but they donít come out all that pleasant. 080411

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ace of Spades. 22oz bottle from Todd... Pours a bright reddish orange
hue with a thin soapy white head... Aroma of sweet citrus and west
coast hops with a balancing degree of malt and crystal malt
sweetness... Flavors of vibrant sweet tropical hop and a citrus rind
quality to it. A mild degree of bitterness in the finish. A bit on the
sweeter side but still a fairly nice dipa. With more of an oak
quality, could be close to resembling expo hoppiness?

On tap at HUB. Very dark amber in color with a thin, white head. Minimal lacing on the glass. Aroma is very piney, citrusy, and full of hop character. Flavor has a huge malt backbone, which helps balance out the insane hoppiness of this brew! Very sweet at first with a nice hop bitterness in the finish. Silky smooth mouthfeel with lively carbonation and light-to-medium body. Overall, this is an amazing DIPA. The relative abundance of this beer is the only thing keeping it from playing with big boys like Pliny. Until then, Iíll enjoy having a gem like this in my backyard :-)
