Our 5th Anniversary beer is a tribute to Brewmaster/Owner Christian Ettinger’s grandfather, Rev. Walter Welsh. He was a civil and women’s rights activist as well as a singer and musician. Whenever they visited each other, they would go for a walk and have lunch with a dark beer – the darker the better.

In his honor, we brewed an oatmeal stout with rich, chocolatey character and a smooth, roasty finish. We would like to raise a glass to the great influences in our lives and five more years of success that is only made possible by great people. Cheers!

On tap at the brewpub - Pours chestnut brown with a beige head. The aroma has chocolate, light roast, smooth English stout yeast and hazelnuts. It has a medium / light crisp body and small amount of carbonation. The flavor starts with roasted malt, earthy hops, light chocolate and English yeast. The finish is a bit more creamy and has more of a hop presence. Really well constructed.

On tap at HUB.A: Opaque mahogany with a thin creme color head.N: Burst of cocoa up front. Coffee and oatmeal. Hint of char, some vanilla, and biscuit. Hop leafiness and earthiness hiding inside here, too. Good complexity for 5.9.T: Sweet and lightly bitter.M: Medium body, soft carbonation, no alcohol.O: Delicious oatmeal stout. Big flavor, balanced taste, and creamy, quaffable body.

Draught. Poured Black with a thick beige head. Very restrained aroma, oat and roast malt. Body is smooth but I would not call this very rich, mild chocolate, oatmeal and malt. Smooth finish that is very good
