Mild, floral hop aroma and taste with clean and refreshing maltiness. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Tap at Hopworks - lightly hazy old - medium body - clean and medium sweet - earthy, piney hops - a bit of a mineral quality - slight herbal, tea-like notes - a little vegetal on the tail end - meh.

Bottle:   Golden, slight dirty haze, large frothy off-white head, sticky lacing, very light
carbonation.   Not much of a hop aroma, moreso a barnish funk of a malt aroma.   Slight earth and soil
matter.   Noticeable hops on the tongue, still light tho.   Less of an organic bite than I would have
thought by the nose, but still noticeable.   Lingering mealy malts, some of that barnish funk.   Body
and mouthfeel are moderate.   A little dry on the backside, powdery, sticks to my tongue and makes me smack
my lips.   Decent Pale Ale, but not as juicy/floral/bitter I would have loved. That and the fact that it
was a little mealy/funky/barnish/soily sorta of detracted.   I’ll stick with their IPA.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow with small white head. Smooth with a hint of hoppy bitterness in the finish, but not overpowering. Just the way I like a good pale ale!

At hub with Carla. Pours gold with white foam. Smells sweetly hoppy. Tastes slightly tangy with hints of apricot and a bitter pine flavor.

A rather standard brewpub pale ale. Cudos for the organic label, but put a little more umph in your beer!

Draft at BikeBar. Aroma of grass, taste is similar. Decent body. Nice eample of a proper pale ale.

22oz. Great hoppy English style beer. Surprised ratings aren’t a bit higher, but not much behind their IPA. Great brewery.

Sample tray. Yellow. Soft fruit scent; orange and peach. Flavour jumps right out. Spicy hop, nut and fruit. Very interesting. I want more. Should have bought a bottle to contemplate.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Hophazard (193) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 28, 2011
Faint pine aroma. Darker straw colored with receding white head. Sappy, resinous hops begin and yield to a caramel malt background. Finish is crisp from bitterness. Body is on the lighter side, making this a sessionable beer. Decent hop flavor overcomes lack of aroma. Enjoyable.
