3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear amber body, fluffy tan head, aroma is rich barley and soft floral hops, flavor is deep caramel, upfront bitters without much hop flavor, bitters all the way through to the end of this swig, finishes dry, I think this is a great example of an american strong ale one of the best I’ve had in a while.

Growler: Clear brown color with a tan head. Semi-hoppy and malty cereal aroma. Kind of a mealy aftertaste. Nothing that special.

Tap at Imazato. Nose of caramel, cherry, raisin, earthy hops, mint. A bit flat in flavor and body. Somewhat dull caramel malt, minty, earthy hops. Not so impressive but ok.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a smallish off-white head on there. Nose is strong with grains, and has some toasty bread notes to it as well. Taste is moderately dry with a bit of a bite on the back end. Almost tastes like there’s sorghum to it. Odd.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Velvety smooth, orange copper ale with small creamy head, thick lacing. Light malty aroma leads into smooth biscuity flavor with hops on the backplane. Overall alcohol warmth minus the burn.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a very pretty ruby red, clear, good head. Medium caramel malt aroma hits you first, sweet toffee like aromas, there’s a citrus hop background, but not too overpowering or up front. Sweetness is kept in check, well-balanced with the bitterness which is smooth. A very enjoyable double-ale.

22oz bomber. Bitter amber ale, west-coasty. Clear beer, no lacing, goes down to a collar. Hop aroma is a good basic hoppy aroma, something stanky in there, though. Taste is mostly fresh, hoppy, with not much complexity; good, nonetheless. Pretty good, I’d like to try it on tap.
