3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
2010-07-04. Crisp yellow body with a small white head. Flavour is pretty mild, just enough grassy hop bitterness to make it interesting, pale malt undertones are fairly muted. 5+ Mild grassy hop aroma. Average to light palate suits it. Very muted. Does what it sets out to I guess, but is ultimately just okay. On tap at Seattle International Beer Festival

Draught at the brewpub. Light golden with a thick white head. Nice grassy and spicy/floral hop aroma with some fresh bready malt. Well balanced flavor with considerable hops but smooth bitterness (much different in that regard than Uprightís pils earlier in the day). Spicy and grassy with a nice bready malt balance. Very clean and well fermented with nothing off detected at all. Both this and the helles were quite good. Not a total americanized hop-bomb pils, but enough to keep things interesting.

[3113-20100704] Sample. Hay-like grassy yeast aroma. Clear, pale yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Doughy bread yeast flavour has hints of grassy yeast. Light body. Odd aroma at first is not bad. Would like to try more from this brewery.

This wasnít the best beer, but itís organic, itís a pilsener so itís not going to blow you away.
It had a nice hop profile for a pilsener, it looked pretty typical and tasted much the same. I gave it slightly higher overall scores because itís organic.

I had this on tap while dining at HUB in Portland, OR. This is a rather hoppy pilsner, fantastic aroma and extremely crisp. Very easy drinking with this one, I wish I could take this home and drink while watching a baseball game.

Unfiltered straw coloured golden pour wearing a more than fair white head. From the looks, I already expect greatness. From the look on my face, I have been served. Itís a very clean pls malt nose that I encounter on the first whiff where hay and the softest breadiness are in fine equilibrium. Refreshing grassy, herbal and slightly spicy bitterness comes with the cleansing, crisp carbonation to provide the kind of finish I like: the one that tells you the next sip will always be welcome and will never be less tasty or interesting than the last one. Saturation just does not happen with that type of beer. Perfect sunny day lager, dry and straightforward. Unsurprisingly, Iím in total disagreement with the majority here. Thatís one mighty fine lager, but perhaps not responding to the average wet dreams of a Portland visitor.

On tap at the brewery. Pours clear yellow with a thin white head and a standard lager aroma. There is a crisp, clean flavor that is a bit too thin for my taste.

Draft HUB. Slightly hazy light golden with white head. Nose is slight of grass, wheat, semi sweet corn. Grass, sweet hay with some corn notes and light bittering on the end.

On tap at H.U.B. Colour... as light as a light beer and no head at all. Nose... flowery and quite pils-like. Palate... definite Saaz hops up front, tingly CO2, tangy, lightly floral, cut grass, hay and a slightly grainy finish. Wish I wouldíve had this over the summer!
