Bright golden w/ medium head. Bready malts come through a bit much, and a slight hint of butterscotch throws it off. Nice saaz bit in the finish.

I can’t get enough of this one. HUB does a great job and the use of authentic Saaz make this a fine beer to taste.
Truly a fine pilsner as recognized by the Silver Medal winner at world beer cup 2008

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Clear yellow with a white head. Fruity hop nose of melon and lemon citrus. Wet on the palate, medium bodied, some light coarseness in the back, and some plastic grain twang in there as well. Okay but nothing like true Czech pils.

This beer is the closest I’ve found to an American brewery brewing a true czech style pilsner. They use true saaz hops, pilsner malts and yeast. The nose has a strong saaz aroma similar to Bernard but with a cleaner smell. The lacing is almost more distinct than Budvar and the taste is crisp and flavorful with a strong hop character though not overpowering the malts so a balance still exists. Truly a fine pilsner as recongnized by the world beer cup 2008

Tap @ HUB... Poured gold with a thick white head. This lager was packed with a great mouthful that actually was satisfying to drink. Lots of flavors of grains and malt which complimented the dry hop finish nicely. Simplistic and enjoyable.

Love the fact that you can get an organic lager that you can actually taste. It’s was on tap at the Waypost on North Williams in Portland.

Tap at HUB. Very light brilliant straw color. Nice Czech hop aroma and flavor. A solid lager with a slightly dry finish. Well balanced.

Flavor – Good pils flavor. This was easy to drink with a good use of hops and malts.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, good texture with a dry finish.
Overall – A very nice Pilsner. I like the flavors. This will be a great hot day out riding beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
after much confusion, those of us who trued both the pale and the lager figured out that the woman behind the taps at the KLCC brewfest mixed up the handles for the entire day, thus everyone who had the lager thought it was too hoppy and everyone who had the pale thought it was weak and malty (to her defense the handles did look identical)...
golden hue, clear, frothy white head, mild (quite subtle) hop bitters, both in the nose and the flavor, very well done lager, cheers!

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2008 From the tap this beer pours a beautiful golden color, great clarity, with a tall white head. Crisp hop nose, spicy and floral abundance. This was one of the better pilsners i’ve had in town, crisp on the palate, excellent compliment to most foods.
