pintbypint (2811) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 26, 2015
Rating #2800. 650ml brown bottle. Dark brown colour, not completely opaque as some red brown highlights can be seen. Holds a low sitting light brown head. Very chocoaltely nose, lighter roast and coffee. Taste has chocolate, coffee, caramel. Finishes with chocolate notes and coffee and caramel/sugar. Light hop bitterness - some lasting leafy notes and roasty bitterness that sticks around. Full bodied, but not heavy feeling. Alcohol integrates well. A nice Impy.

fiulijn (16003) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 23, 2015
Bottle from Legacy, Vancouver; 9.8% ABV
The color is almost black, with very small head. Mild aroma, caramel, rye bread, sweet. Sweet but not syrupy; the dark caramel dominates the flavor, with notes of chocolate, leather, biscuits, but also with a fruity touch. The alcohol and hop resins create a warming feeling in the final.
Agile, pedestrian. Very nice.

Poured from a 22. Aroma is sweet and slightly boozy, but not overly boozy. Flavor is sweet like caramel and apples, almost like a candy apple. Finish is very smooth. Very easy drinking beer.

Beer #10 of 13 in blind tasting.
Light colored head. Very smooth and balanced flavors, no "imperial" at all. Earthy and woodsy malts. Low hop, low acidity. My top rated beer of the tasting.
For the aggregate, this fell slightly above average.
