3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 brenn79 (1224) - Idaho, USA - JAN 18, 2013
22 oz. bottle- Pours very hefe style hazy with a one finger head that reduces to a collar and a few islands. Aroma is very tropically, fruity, passion fruit and mango especially. Taste has the fruitiness, but is drier than expected, very mellow bitterness, fresh tasting, zesty. Body is medium, carbonation is kind of low. Overall interesting beer. The bottle says it is an IPA, but this site says American strong ale, which is it? I would go with an IPA, way too light and refreshing to be an American strong ale.

Estate version bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazed (lightly), copper hued body with a small, off-white head. Aromas are somewhat sweet, grainy and lightly of honey. Floral, some cantaloupe. A touch of herbal hop and grapefruit. Flavors are mildly estery, citrusy and lightly spicy hop character, sweet, malty, and caramel. Medium bodied, some sweetness in the finish with fuller carbonation.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy orange amber with a creamy/bubbly beige head. Aromas of light stone fruit and something herb/floral. Med+ body. Flavor is sort of Belgian. Medium stone fruit, yeast/spice, citrus/earthy hop. It has a lingering low level of maltiness in the finish, but there’s enough spice and bitter to put that in place. Rather mouthsmacking.

Dark amber in color, clear with a thin head. Intresting flavor in a good way. Lots of hops and chocolaty aroma and flavor. This was a slick tasting beer with an awesome name.

Curiously interesting beer. Earthy-yeasty nose. Bold sweetness made me think of rock candy, Astro pops and caramel. Hops made me think of sweetgrass, holiday spices and pepper. Alcohol was a bit throat warming. Mild bitterness, relatively speaking. Found it interesting that they’re growing the same hops I grow in my backyard on San Juan Island, which is just across the bay from my house. Overall, I found this beer to be flavorful and interesting.
