3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle:   Reddish amber in color, translucent, large frothy white head, very sticky lacing.
Pale musty slightly earthy malt aroma.   A bit mustier and dank like maltiness on the tongue.   Seems a
little thing, not much body.   Hops are soft.   This is a malt based beer, but its not that malty
either... Hmmm...   Flavor from start to finish, but body and mouthfeel lack depth.   Not watery, just,
well... bordering.   Finishes with a touch of pale fruit skin, otherwise pale earthy/grainy/barnish
maltiness.   Clean beer, just not big enough.

Single bottle purchased from Co-op Wine & Spirits in Calgary, AB on 11/17/2011. Colour: A dark orange and brown mix with sizeable and sturdy off-white head. Nose: Hops dipped in caramel, sesame seed, slight rubbery note, brown sugar. Taste: Light sweet, medium-high bitter, light sour. Lot’s of flowery taste. Some noticable roasted malt. A huge bitter charge right on the finish that sits strong for a long time. Quite palateble.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: Deep amber body. Slightly cloudy. Large fluffy off-white head. Good retention and tons of lacing.
S: Grapefruit, resinous pine, and sweet caramel malts.
T: Very much like the nose. Highly hopped up with grapefruit, orange, and pine. Plenty of malt shines through giving a nice balance from the caramel and lightly bready backbone.
M: Smooth, medium bodied. Resinous finish with moderate bitterness.
O: A very nice hoppy red. Its not Nugget Nectar, but you shouldn’t hold that against it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured out a nice looking clear darker amber with a decent sized off white cap that left some spots. Has a pleasant aroma of honey and sweetness, pine, caramel, oranges and something earthy. MMMM good bitterness that seems to flow in waves, unsweetened grapefruit and pine bitterness and bite, darker caramel than usual, orange, earth. Tasty beer. Smooth carbonation, wonderful bitterness that just seems to swirl around. I dig this beer on most levels but get bored on a couple of others.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. "Tall Cans in the Air, let me see ’em ... fuck you!". Must be a hoppy red for that to pop into mind while I was sipping this. Looks red with a good head and nice lace. Was going to say "How much hops can you add before you have an IPA not a red?" But it is classified as an AIPA already. Nice malty backbone and hops in the nose. Big malt profiel and a fishy woody hop flavour that makes me think PUNK.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
650ml brown bottle. Pours out deep gold/amber, clear and without sediment. Small but lasting cramy cap, whitish colour. Light lacing in the glass. Aroma has a whiff of spicy west coast hops, below that is caramel malt. Flavour is of caramel malt as the base, light toasty profile, laid overtop is a dose of grapefruity hops with a spicey kick. Slight grassy and citrusy aftertaste with lingering caramel malt taste. Medium bodied with active carbonation to propel the bitterness. Malty pale ale with a nice IBU count, quaffable, solid.
