Bomber. Decent India Dark Ale. Nice and bitter. A bit thin in the middle. Pine and roasted malts. Bitter finish.

Roasted malt aroma - dark chocolate, espresso and piney hops. Medium bodied, roasted characteristics, medium hop finish. Finish is lingering bitter with a touch if lemon. This is a good beer, but I’ve had better stylistically, and a style I’m growing quite fond of.

pretty good offering, had on tap at HUB in Portland. Nothing spectacular but would have again.

From big bottle. Some roast and odd spearmint flavor. Not much in the way of bitterness. Pretty bland and flat overall. Nothing compared to Barley Brown’s. These guys should stick with what they know best.

Cracking open the bottle unleashes loads of west coast hops - grapefruit being the big player. In the glass its a clear dark brown with a touch of red around the edges. Thin, but lingering head. Aroma remains the same (good). Taste. Opens very IPA-ish - doing this blindfolded I wouldn’t guess it was dark. But part way through, and mostly on the finish. there is a bit of a roasty kick that comes in. All in all though I would like a bit more of a roasty punch to this. And maybe a touch more body.

Pour brown/black creamy beige head decent lace. Aroma coffee, roast, citrus, skunk, grapefruit, resiny hops. Taste pine/citrus hops, resiny hops, grapefruit, roast, coffee, chocolate, awesome bitter taste. MF Medium body good carb. Overall aside from a strange smell outstanding taste good bitterness and roast mix. Thanks Manuchampions!!!

Mahogany with a thin white head. Some pine on the nose and other green aromatics. Medium bodied and showing good balance. Would like more complexity from the roasted malts. This shows more like a well made typical NW IPA.

Draft from 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours dark brown/black, off-white head. Aroma sharp and resinous, lively body, not too malty. Very crisp and clean, compared to some more malty versions of the style. Finish is almost a bit sweet and slightly roasty. Very enjoyable, especially for the price.

Nice dark malts with pine hop flavor. The body presents a nice solid palate, minimal bitterness. Nice representative of a CDA Cascadian Dark Ale

Tap @ Noble Fir. Dark ruby brown clear pour with a short white head leaving a coarse lace. Nose predicts the body: fresh citrus and pine hops and dark-roasted malt. Medium, moderately carbonated body has flavors of pine, burnt caramel, slight baker’s chocolate and a nice cane sugar sweetness emerges as the ale warms. Secession finishes with a slight citrus tartness and a long coffee and pine bitterness. A solid black IPA from an exceptional organic craft brewer.
