Black body, creamy an head, aroma is mocha chocolate coffee with some fresh west coast hops, flavor is big malts, thick caramel, chucks of chocolate, some deep roast, a wide hop flavor and a hint of smoke, an amazing ale, one of the best beers Ive had in a long time, really great stuff!

2015-06-03. Very dark brown body with a moderate tan head and nice lace. 3+ Aroma of musky leafy green hops, whisper of roast. Flavour is moderately bitter, light roast and green hop character. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Okay. On tap at Underground Tap House, Edmonton.

Pours fairly dark with a tan head. The aroma has roasted malt and tropical hops. The body is fairly full with soft carbonation. The flavor begins with roast, coffee, pine and tropical fruits. The finish has some citrus and the roast is not as obvious. Good black IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber, dark pour with a caramel colored head. This is a roasted malty hoppy drink with a slight coffee note on the finish, well balanced. Id do it again, and again.... The more I drink it, the more I like it.

Dark and chewy, with a nice mocha meets grapefruit thing going on on the nose and the palate. Super solid black ipa from a brewer I expected less from.

Tap at Hopworks BikeBar. Light chocolate nose, with some anise. Dark translucent brown. Gentle roasty initial, with chocolate, and some grain, decent bittering. Finish fades out quickly. Medium body. The high IBU level is not quite apparent in the flavor. Okay.

On tap. A: Opaque root beer brown according to my wife. (black. Its black.) with a thin, creme colored head. N: Hops display themselves through spruce, biscuit, cocoa, coffee, touch of black raspberries even. Mango and pineapple. Marshmallow. T: Bittersweet in equal proportions. M: Medium body bordering on thick. Lighter level if carbonation. O: A coniferous beast with a spritzing of sweets. Maybe too sweet, actually.
