Medium, dense greige head, irregular, over virtually black beer. Coffee, unmistakeably, coffeedregs; slightly ashy, toffee. More coffee & ashes in the mouth, quite dry and roasted; but in the aftertaste, some sweetness lingers, together with a near-metallic bitterness. Other grains’ impression - maybe suggested. Medium bodied, very slick. Decent, nothing more. Coffee is a bit too strongly present, IMO.

Pours pitch black, but quite thin, minimal head. Aroma is very sweet, milk chocolate, cafe late. Flavors are still quite light, but nice bitterness, pleasant roastiness, pretty easy drinking. Light mouthfeel but fairly strong coffee and light sweetness from malts.

650ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige head. Roasty, malt-spicy, dark malty aroma, hints of coffee, coffee surrogate, some cocoa, a touch of malt lozenge. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, subtle sweetness, notes of coffee and espresso, a touch of malt lozenge, some cocoa; lasting dry, coffee-induced finish, full body. Brings together a good deal of possible dark malt flavours, almost all-over from dry roasty to sweet chocolately, well balanced coffee support - good.
