On tap at Alibi Room. Somewhat clear with a thin beige head. Aroma filled with coffee and some chocolate. Coffee taste with sweet malt and a bitter finish. SMOOTH creamy body. Quite nice.

Pours a dark ebony color with a slight tan head. Taste is malt with hints of toffee, grains, chocolate,
Nuts and coffee. Has a mild hop bitterness to finish. A well crafted brew.

At cellar temperature and into a shallow chalice. Black as midnight and opaque with not too much going on. Head survives a good sixty seconds before fading off to legs and little else. Rich, dense and complex nose that showcases the extreme grain-bill. Spicy and raw with inklings of roasted carob and cocoa, timber shavings and OXO cubes, fresh strapped leather and lightly roasted coffee beans, top-soil and bitter, damp herbs. Like something suffering a bad case of bi-polar it is unusually mellow and soft in the mouth. Sooty, ashen and smoky making for a very dry stout. Body is medium-light and foamy with moderate carbonation up-front and a smooth tail end. Long length that hints at charred coffee beans and bitter weeds. The palate well spiced, grainy and malty but much leaner than anticipated for flavour. Ash really dominates. I must say I quite like it as it does drink really well, but is overall a little undemanding. (1 pint, 6 fl.Oz, no date stamp, Cellarbrations Carlisle)

Tap. Pours black thin head. Big coffee aroma. Taste is lots of cold press coffee and ash toast malt.

Pours dark brown with slight tan head. Aroma of a lot of roast, some robust coffee, dark chocolate. Flavour is fairly sweet, simple coffee, nice oaty viscosity. Couldn’t really pick out any of the other grains.

Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of carmel, cocoa, light roasted malt and light coffee. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bakers cocoa, roasted malt and light coffee with a crisp dry lingering roasty finish.
