Poured out of a 22oz bottle into a tulip glass. A dark brown, opaque pour with a light tan inch of head. Smells like coffee, caramel, burnt malt and molasses. Wow. Amazing. Tastes of burnt malt, coffee and slightly sweet malt at the end. Very good. Light to medium body. Almost non-existent carbonation. Easily a daily drinker. Excellent flavor and too drinkable. The smell is really the star here. Incredible.

From tap at Bøker & Børst with JMD 01.02.16. Black. Foamy and persistent brown head and lacing. Aroma and taste of strong, fresh coffee, roasted barley and pine shoots. Long and comnplex aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel. Very quaffable!

On tap at Bøker & Børst, Stavanger.Pours black as Coke with a small tanned head. Aroma of roasted coffee, weak roasted malts. Taste is moderate sweet, roasted caramel, decent dry with liquorice and mint playing along, weak bitter finish with a decent but not dominating coffee flavour.

Pours pitch black, but quite thin, minimal head. Aroma is very sweet, milk chocolate, cafe late. Flavors are still quite light, but nice bitterness, pleasant roastiness, pretty easy drinking. Light mouthfeel but fairly strong coffee and light sweetness from malts.

650ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige head. Roasty, malt-spicy, dark malty aroma, hints of coffee, coffee surrogate, some cocoa, a touch of malt lozenge. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, subtle sweetness, notes of coffee and espresso, a touch of malt lozenge, some cocoa; lasting dry, coffee-induced finish, full body. Brings together a good deal of possible dark malt flavours, almost all-over from dry roasty to sweet chocolately, well balanced coffee support - good.

I’m not sure if the unusual grains lurking behind the fabulous coffee are truly detectable or just a figment of my imagination but whatever, the result is pretty tasty.

Pours brown/black with a fine tan head. Aroma is expresso, oats, hops, roasted malts and dark chocolate. Flavour is over the top coffee like chewing on a coffee bean. Bitterness on the finish. Too much.
