Bottled. Rubyish brown colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, some slight toffee and mild spicy and vegetably/grainy notes. Flavour is quite similar to the aroma. Rather different and also quite a sweetish aftertaste. Big coffee aftertaste.

Cask and draft tasted side by side at BikeBar, courtesy of staff - thanks! Aroma of chocolate !! and burnt espresso. Taste is like strong coffee. Low carbonation. Needs more body. Not a great cask choice, and served too cold. But overall, OK.

Tasting at Papsø
Black color; generous creamy head. Dusty aroma, cardboard. The coffee aroma here is not too bad (compared to other coffee beers). Dry mouthfeel, a bit creamy (which is a positive thing in this kind of beers), strong roasted malt flavor, coffeish. Correct bitterness. Well balanced, even if not a good style for me.

Tap at Hopworks Bike Bar, Portland - 07/11/12. Dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head that clears to the edges and forms a small film. Nose comprises roast malt, coffee, wood, touch of smoke, chocolate. Espresso taste up front, roast malt, touch of molasses, liqourice. Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a bitter (and Espresso) roasted finish. I enjoyed this one - a break from the hops !!!
