Nice coffee aroma and flavors. Not super heavy with interesting grain flavors. Quite different from other stouts, and I find it quite enjoyable.

Bottle shared. Pours a black/brown with smaller head. Aroma is roast, coffee, and some pepper. Taste is big roast and coffee for the lighter body. A lot of flavour is packed int the 5%, and I give kudos for that. There is a bit of a spice note to it that I can’t quite put my finger on. Very nice stout.

Coffee and roasted grains on the nose. Poura dark brown almost black tan head. Flavors of coffee roasted grains a little earth a little interesting grain notes meaning not standard - quinoa or rye or some shit. Pretty solid. Medium bodied good complexity and drinkability.

On tap at the brewpub on Powell Blvd. in Portland, OR. Dark brown to nearly black pour with a thin khaki head. Aroma of strong coffee and virtually nothing else. Coffee and light chocolate are the dominant flavors. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

Pours dark brown with a strong head. Character is espresso, 80%dark chocolate, refreshing tannic graininess from adjunct grains. Body is light but oily-feeling and finishes dry bitter and coffeelike. Truly unique and quenching beer.

Opaque black-red with a quickly dissipating light brown head. Rich chocolate and coffee ground aromatics. Nutty malt and coffee flavors dominate, with a ruddy earthen component. Nut and toast in a savory finish with ashen vestiges that create a lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, with a slight dryness.

22 oz. from cellar. Unknown vintage. Not quite as full-bodied as I’d expect. But all of those malts seem to combine to give it an interesting malt profile. Unfortunately a lot of it gets lost with all the espresso. Still tasty. Not sure it needed to sit in the cellar so long...

650ml bomber pours almost black in color with a 2 finger light tan head that settles to leave some thin spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark roasted malts with coffee and hints of chocolate. Taste is malty and chocolate sweet with some roasted malt and mild hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light carbonation. A nicely balanced stout which was a good tasting experience.
