3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
18.01.13. Bottle. Lots and lots of foam kept pouring out of the bottle. In the glass it is quite porous and settles quickly. Clear copper-colored beer. Aroma slight caramel, sour apple. Tastes sour and dry. Medium carbonation, a bit stingy. Long sour aftertaste. Overall a decent beer, lots of flavor.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2015 vintage. 750mL corked & caged Champagne bottle from Beer Cartel. BB 31/10/2034!!
Effervescent hazy orange-gold body, dense white head persists.
Doesn’t give away much at first, but opens up with warmth (and air) - hay, apricot & peach, grapefruit, white grape, touch of old oak, lees, faint hard cheese & horse.
Lots of structure on the palate - lengthy acidity, some tannin, lively creamy carbonation.
Juicy body, full of character - unripe peach & apricot & grapefruit once again, grainy malts, light herbal/floral quality, subtle oak, cheesy finish with a touch of acetic & citric acid lingering.
Refined & complex; lovely.

Bottle shared at home. Clear orange golden with fizzy white head that leaves a nice ring of little bubbles. Lots of funk up front, hay, apple juice, champagne, light burnt rubber, grains and some dough. Nice grassy and soft flowery notes in the finish. Under medium sweet and sour with a light rubbery bitter finish. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Very nice.

750ml bottle pours out a hazy golden topped with a white head. Nose is great super buggy barnyard horse blanket notes. Taste is more of the super buggybbarnyard funk. This is great.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2011 vintage. Pours a very hazy, bright golden orange color with tangerine hues and a frothy, two finger, pillowy white head. Good retention, only slowly setting into a thick, lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind.
Musty aroma with lots of earthy barnyard character along with lactic funk, damp oak, hay, light fruit and acidic acid. Subtle acetic character but it’s not solvent-like or overly vinegary. Oak tannins along with musty bugs, horseblanket, lactic funk, grass and straw. Some light fruit in there as well, notably apple and pear complimenting the lemon acidity. The nose on this beer is pretty complex with plenty of earthy funk.
Full bodied with soft carbonation and tart, puckering sourness that lingers over the barnyard/ lactic funk flavors, oaky tannins, light fruit and citrus acidity into a tart, dry finish. Very nice sour element by not harsh or overly acetic. Crisp citrus/lemon juice acidity countered by earthy oak and lactic cheesiness. Sweaty with dry, funky bugs, lemon spritz and a lingering soft acetic flavor that makes me drool for more. Very refreshing and easy to drink considering the complexity and level of sourness.

Bottle brought home from Weekend Of Spontaneous Fermentation. Shared with Rachel & Nick. Pours hazy Golden Amber with a short, White head. Aroma of funky Brett and vinegar. Taste has loads of that good, good funk and some citric tartness. Unusually potent for a Geueze. I loved it.
