UPDATED: AUG 1, 2010 Brilliantly stolen half (not in the criminal sense), Rugby ’08. Shrugged the in-laws and other half off with a promise I’d follow them back to the car having had a piss, but really went back and secretly necked a half of this. Blackish with ruby tints. Smooth dusty vanilla choc sweetness. Pinch of coffee, charcoal. Milky hazelnut afters. Tasty mild with character that outstrips its strength.

Very moreish dark mild. Well balanced roast malt flavour with a hint of liquorice

Cask gravity at Reading BF 08. Getting towards the end of the evening so I don’t think I was making too much sense by this stage. That is a pretty good mild. In fact that’s a fantastic mild. Bit of ashtray. But just a fantastic mild, so much flavour and just lovely malts.

Gravity, Reading Beer Festival. Deep brown, copper highlights. Surprisingly light head, just off-white. Beautiful toasted hazelnut aroma, cinnamon. Good aroma volume. Husky, nutty roast flavor, LIngering nutty warmth. Lovely mild, and even more impressive, it survived being tasted immediately after JJJ IPA without being totally overwhelmed. Now there’s a proper mild!
