COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Sampe @ SBWF 12. Very dark almost black colour with a large brown head. Aroma of roasted coffee and chocolate. Taste of coffee and chocolate with some sweetness to it.

Bottle. The beer is pitch black with a plentiful brown head. Quite high effervescence (more than I expected from an imperial stout). Aroma is coffee, vanilla and smoke. Flavor is clearly smokey, bitter coffee but also a noticeable sweetness. The high carbonation makes this feel less smooth on the palate than I prefer, and the smokeyness is not exactly down my alley. Regardless, this was an interesting imperial stout; sweet, bitter and smokey. Ultimately good stuff! Gets better once twirled around a bit, causing the fizzy carbonation to diminish, as well as letting the beer get warmer.

Bottle at home. Dark dark brown color, one finger light brown foam. Notes of leather, stables, citrus? In the aroma. Taste; coffe, sugar, cacao, creamy felling in the mouth, slightly bitter aftertaste. Nice beer. Bolton Brew Rocks !!

500mL bottle at Le Cheval Blanc, pours pitch black with a few bubbles of brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, dark roasted malts and some liqueur - very dense. Flavour is very dark roasted malt that dominates, some bittersweet dark cocoa and a touch of brandied liqueur. Dark roast finish with loads of depth. Very deep and full-bodied. Certainly an excellent impie here.

Pitch black pour with a large, creamy and lacing light brown head. Aroma is smokey(peat) and some roastyness. Taste is sweet dark molasses with loada of roastyness, giving way to hints of peat and caramel. Body is full to medium with medium carbonation

Shared bottle at Cardinal. Black body with a large gelatinous brown head. Smokey malts and notes of wood on the nose. Roasted, sweet flavors with liquorice and light wooden notes. Pungent. Full body. Smooth and delightful to drink with a long and pleasant roasted finish where coffee comes through. Highly recommended.

Torréfié, rôtie, fumé et légèrement houblonné, ce liquide au corps huileux fait exactement ce dont on s’attend de lui. Merci à Pat pour ce succulent dessert.

50 cl. bottle poured in to a snifter. Pitch black with a lasting, small tan head. The aroma has roasted malts, salt, liquorice, smoke, hops and a hint of tobacco. Powerful, roasted bitter taste with notes of peat, smoked bacon, coffee. Full bodied with a thick texture. Long lasting, bitter finish, with roasted malts, chocolate and light notes of peat. A very nice imp. stout from Hornbeer.

Bottle @ René’s house. Thanks! Black appearance with a dark brown appearance. Rich anise, dark chocolate, charred, licorice aroma. A little chewy, rich black licorice, smoky, mild chocolate flavor. Pretty tasty.
