A dense tan head settles over the blackness. Heacy dark chocolate roast leaves a fair room to tartish, agreeable fruitiness covering a rather broad range - all kinds of berries, figs, blueberry pancakes. Meanwhile, the malts display an interesting smoky side, adding to the product’s depth. Desserty palate, not necessarily the thickest, but smooth and well-rounded with love handles at the right place. A fair bitterness develops from the roasted malts, bringing an espresso touch the the hoppy, cedary, floral finish. Really well done - fruity enough to be complex and hoppy without any acrid bitterness well showcasing round, desserty malts.

Bouteille. Vraiment classique 7/10

Pours pitch black colour, medium thick beige head with great retention. Aroma is dark roasted malts, lots of them, mild chocolate, mocha, syrup and some vanilla. Roasted malts dominate on the flavour also, chocolate, vanilla, light fruits and some coffee at the end. A bit too raw and harsh bitterness diturbs the palate, but otherwise a good imp. Was a bit better from bottle.

A good but a little too smoky imperial stout, smoke overshadows the otherwise delicate nuances of the beer.

The aroma is rich with elements of roasted malt, smoke, lots of hops, coffee, metal and a breath of fresh salty sea water. The taste complements the aroma with hints of coffee and chocolate. Alcohol is hardly noticeable in this powerhouse of flavors. Strangely enough, the taste feels in some senses a bit thin. This is an amazing beer!

Appearance : Pitch black with medium foamy and creamy brown head. Some lacing.
Aroma : Roasted malt with chocolate and some coffee. Light mineral notes. Resinous hops.
Taste : Roasted malt with lots of coffee and light chocolate. Light smokey notes. Resinous hops especially on the finish. Finish is also nicely roasty with notes of dark chocolate. Great persistent finish.
Overall : Very interesting beer. Nice finish, nice balance between hops and malt. Nice coffee notes with light smokey spikes. Alcohol is barely there. Palate is a bit creamy. Very nice stout. Great hops with great roasted malts. Gets considerably better as it warms up.

Bottle thanks to hoppypocket. Black pour with mocha head. Aroma: Interesting smoky notes and sea salt which reminds me of scotch. No chocolate to be found but some light coffee, but a nice malt roastiness. Unique and very nice. Very roasted and bitter malts with some peat and coffee. Silky palate, low carbonation but could be a little more thick and rich. Very good stout, I like the scotch’s similarities with the roasted profile.

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2014 Pitch black beer with a rather small brown head. Notes of roasted malt, rye bread, campfire and soy sauce. Taste is sweetish, peaty, bready and slightly woody with a strong touch of alcohol and some plummy notes. Full body with creamy texture soft carbonation and a dry and roasted finish.
