COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle at KØ09. Good smoky aroma. Black colour. Nice stable brown head. The flavour is sweet and coffeeish, good pepper note. Roasted coffee, flavourful and nice.

CBF09. From tap. Pours pitch blach dark brown with a chocolate brown head. Dry roasted and hoppy to spiced hoppy aroma. Light light spiced, smoked and roasted malt flavoured. Dry and malty roasted to acidic malt finish. A bit too sharp to be really good.

On tap. Completely opaque black with a light brown head. Distincly burned malt aroma. Medium body with very burned malts, ashes, coffee and vanilla with a light underlying residual sweetness. Dry and burned malt finish. I don’t really pick up the peaty smoke as described in the commercial description. 150509

Draught at Københavns Øldage 2009, Valby. Black - brown head. Coffee, sweetness, fruity, coffee, licorice, burned, nice hoppy, light smokey. Very nice - but just another classic Imp. Stout.

Black with a large beige head. Sweet aroma with plenty of burned malt, chocolate and mollasses. Flavour had loads of burned malt, chocolate, smoke and coffee notes. Finished sweet with warming alcohol.

[my 4,800th rating]
Pours completely black with a small, creamy, beige film head. Aroma is smoky, roasted, dark chocolate, cocoa and a touch of liqourice. Low carbonation, impressive creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, roasted, very dry and lightly smoky. Chocolate finishes it off great with some bitterness. Very nice.

Bottle. [Beer festival 2009] This was a pleasant surprise. Large beige creamy head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Black color. Aroma of roasted malt, liquorish, mild smoke, wood dry feel, light coffee and chocolate. Quite full bodied with an average carbonation and somewhat dry light alcoholic texture. Moderated to almost heavy sweet and bitter flavor in balance. Lingering roasted malty finish.
