COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

chocolate, coffee and smoked aroma. Black color with a brown reflections, maybe a bit hazy but nice. Brown head, nice lacing. Very bitter. full body, oily feel, soft carbonation, bitter finish with long taste of dark chocolate. One of the best in this style that I tried.

Black thick body and tan head. No, the head is thick brown, most impressive. Aroma of fuel, oil, rye. Holy moly, this is the darkest rawest imperial stout I’ve had for a long time. Deepness of balsamic vinegar, tannic red wine and mature blue cheese. It’s crazy! Taste is equally deep and raw. Liquid marmite. All strange associations aside, this is an awesome imperial stout with real character. And seriously, who puts a beer like this on freaking 50cl bottles? (50cl bottle from SpeciaalBierPakket)

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2011 Pours pitch black, even against the light, with a thick brown head that disappears quickly. Chocolate, fruit, some hops, and a bit of alcohol in the aroma. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, cream, honey, licorice, ashes, some smoke and a cocoa bitterness. Not much alcohol in the flavour. Quite complex and very nice. Raised it from 4.3 to 4.4 after having it on draught.

Bottle sample at Beer Enthusiast release tasting, Bergen. Pours a very black colour with a small light brown head. Looks like espresso. I could not have dreamed of a better aroma where I found leather, tar, strong coffee, dried fruit and a touch of smoke. Smoke is even more evident in the flavour with touch of fire/burnt wood, coffee, bitter chocolate and dark, dark, sweet berries, chocolate truffles and port wine. Oily mouth feel, and light bitterness. A beautiful imperial stout with great balance

Bottle. Pitch black with a minimal dark head. Really nice smell of roasted coffee. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Taste is roasted coffee, hops, malt and something ashy. Sweet and smooth with a long bitter and smokey aftertaste. Really good.

Eccezionale.

50 cl, flaske, 10,0 % ABV, 50 års-gave fra Michael Drejer - tak! 26. marts 2014.
