This is brilliant. Dark body with frothy brown head. Burnt malt aroma... so amazing... caramel & chocolates. Body is thick and compliments all the flavours so well! Finishing is bitter and enjoyable.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
500 ml bottle. Pours an orangeish-brownish black with a resilient dark beige head. Aroma is roast, chocolate, hazelnuts, dark coffee. Flavor is chocolate, loads of roast, coffee, ash. Finish is coffee, cocoa bitterness. Extremely bitter. Some very sweet caramel. Lingering notes of hazelnut. Strong body, velvety mouthfeel, weak carbonation. A very bitter impy, rather hard to drink, but so delicious!

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
On tap at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden on 2nd August 2014. Virtually black with pale brown diminishing foam to a ring, and scattered lacing streaks. Rich roasty and smoky aroma with notes of Christmas pudding and logfire smoke. Exquisite smoky malty blend in-mouth with woodsmoke, spices, rich Christmas pudding and coalfire. Finish is intensely roasty with continued smokiness, sweet winter berries, delicate savoury notes and citric tang. A true orgasm of flavour. Solid body and smooth yet engaging texture. Did not expect to award this mark- well deserved!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap@Cafe Langebro, CPH - pours black with a firm persistent tan head. Big roasted malty aroma and taste, some chocolate, notes of peat, smoky burnt malts, some dark dried fruits, there is some hoppy nuances in this as well on the palate, pretty complex overall, very satisfying and enjoyable. Tasty stuff!

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2014 50cl bottle from a stash in Scandinavia. + *playing ’Live in Boston’ version of Peter Greens ’Black Magic Woman’ to get into the drift.. "She already wants me to love her"... alright... so let’s start pouring this baby..
Dark with a stunning foamhead that almost hits the roof. Beautiful! Great consistency in the light brown foam. Looks very promising! Aroma : malt, dark roast, licorice, dark choc, but still medium.... Taste : a full sweet smokey malt taste (lovely!!!) with a boozey whiskey aftertaste that sticks around. A creamy mouthfeel it is. Not too malty, not too bitter or peppery, nor over-sweet.. Enjoy this with any magical woman. She will adore the experience and love you. If not, it is what it is; the power is in you anyways (meditate!).Yum!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Danish imperial brewed with peated malt and, I suppose, named after the Santana song... Deeply beige, creamy head, colour totally black. Powerful aroma of ashes, charcoal, black coffee, cacao powder, cassis, figues; dried fruit initiates the taste but doesn’t last long against a very powerul roasted bitterness, peated malt and smokiness, almost feels like ingesting the content of a used ashtray, especially in the tail. A bit too ashy to my taste, but very characterful and powerful for sure.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Keg at Cask P&K. Black, big foamy tan head endures, even lacing. Aroma is sweet and smokey, similar sort of vibe to the taste. Body is medium, touch of spritz, a little foamy. Taste is fabric plasters, sweet, smokey, touch of TCP and whisky, finishes dry and astringent with some floral pot pourri hop character. Decent. Somewhere between a 3.7 and 3.8.
