COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

This is brilliant. Dark body with frothy brown head. Burnt malt aroma... so amazing... caramel & chocolates. Body is thick and compliments all the flavours so well! Finishing is bitter and enjoyable.

The malt is heavy in its expression, smoked and caramelized with a touch of coffee. The taste is not as heavy as expected. In fact, it is first caramel-sweet with spicy notes of smoke. Next, the coffee and dark bitter chocolate in a seductive composition ending in a marked and bold hop bitterness, which I think fits very well in an Imperial Stout. The alcohol is completely hidden in this tasty stout, and it is truly magical. Magicical because smoke and hops envelops the dark and indefinable transition between chocolate, caramel and coffee.

Pours a pitch black body with a scarce brown head. Nose has deep and intense liquirice aromas laced with some caramel and chokolate. Taste is sweet with a roasty bitter finish. Sift carbonation and hefty, sticky palate. Quite nice with well hidden alcohol and loads of liquorice.

Copenhagen 19/7 2015. 50 cl bottle. Gift from my in-laws. Clumsy drawing of what I suppose is supposed to be a Black Magic Woman on the label. Pours opaque black with creamy beige head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam with heavy lacing. Aroma is toffee and caramel - and a little smoke. Soft carbonation. Powerful and distinctly bitter taste complemented by a little sweetness for balance. The smoky taste comes in as well especially in the aftertaste. Fullbodied and creamy mouthfeel. An acquintance described is as licking the hull of a fishermans boat. I do not think it was meant as a compliment. It ought to be.

Pours black with a large tan head. Nose shows hefty peat along with some more woody smoke notes. A bit of chocolate and roast too. Similarly smoky flavours, lots more peat. A fair whack of roast and some booze and herbal hop bitterness.
