3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Kestral (505) - Årnes, NORWAY - AUG 4, 2010
Tap at Olympen. Cloudy dark orange, basically no head. Aroma is very heavy and sweet. Belgian yeast, banana, wheat, some spicy notes. Tastes as sweet as it smells. A medium to low bitter middle, with sweetness dominating the beginning and finish. Lively carbonation, medium bodied, quite creamy. Was surprised to see the 6.6% abv, would have thought less. Drinkable, but at the end of the glass it feels too heavy and sweet to make you want another.

Cloudy orange with a disappearing white head. Aroma of grainy malt, with spice phenols, and some peach and pineapple esters. Yeasty dry flavour with notes of grain, rubber, spice and pepper. It’s very Belgian, but doesn’t stand out from the average.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 larsga (5324) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 10, 2011
Medium coarseish offwhite shiny head. Muddy opaque orange body. Mealy wheaty spicy aroma with phenolic fruity notes. Dry-sweet herbal fruity phenolic taste with coriander and orange notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry herbal floral coriander aftertaste is surprisingly short. Nice and highly drinkable. Has some character, too. (0.4l draft at Olympen, Oslo.)

Bottle, at Copenhagen Beerfestival. A hazy, golden-orange beer with a creamy beige head. Grains, fruits and banana in the aroma, a little citrus and some spices too. Sweet and fruity flavor, lightly spiced, with a hint of banana. Some lemon in the background. Medium to full body, sweetish, yet dry. Sweet, fruity finish. A quite quenching beer, decent, but just one in the crowd. (090516)

0.5L bottle from Lønnebjerg, Sjællands Odde. A finger of dense white head, upon a near-clear deep honey golden body. Moderate apple-fruity aroma. Some belgian style yeast, sweetish doughy pale malts, and a light spice tone. Taste is medium sweet, evenly fruity and malty. Notes of spices and yeast. Light in body. Feels kind of diluted in the mouth. Sweetish, light spicy endnotes. A straightforward and decent Blonde.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 FatPhil (7496) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 9, 2009
500ml bottle (Olutkellari, Helsinki)
Rich orange, brief large frothy head. Pours with an appley aroma, but in the glass it’s more peachy, and a little dusty. Crisp carbonation. Fruity and fructosey retronasals. Almost a thin palate, but contradictorily also has a sticky sweet aspect. Fairly full sweet malty body, some dry barky hops which are subdued, drowned even, by the sugars. Fruitiness is a nice twist on the blond style, but the sugar is too prominent. Covers 6.6% quite well, and slips down easily.
