Présence d’un moyen col beige mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Léger goût de caramel avec une pointe de café. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement onctueuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de caramel en arrière goût. (Rating #4770)

50 cl. bottle. Dark brown colour - almost black -with a big, creamy light tan head. Sweet aroma with chocolate and roasted malts, red berries, coffee and a yeasty citrus note. Taste is light bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, a bit to carbonated. Finishes bitter - too bitter for a brown ale, almost like a stout - with coffee, roasted malts and yeasts. More sweetness would be appreciated. Still a nice beer.

Brown color, hazy, with creamy head and with yeast under the cap and in the neck of the bottle. Aroma of dark caramel and old timber lined pub. Smooth mouthfeel, too much carbonation; some flavor of roasted malts and dark caramel, with a sandy and dusty mouthfeel; strong bitterness and light oxidization.

Pours deep dark red color with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, some caramel, toffee, hints of coffee and some vanilla. Flavor of roasted malts, ripe fruit notes, caramel and toffee, hints of vanilla and yeast. Decent. High CO2.

Bottle: Poured a clear dark brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of roasted caramel malt with light dry coffee notes. Taste is also dominated by caramel malt with limited sweet notes and a dry aftertaste with light coffee notes. Body is average with good carbonation. Standard offering with some bland tendency.

Bouteille de 500ml. Difficile de croire que ce liquide est meilleur avant Noël 2014 quand à mon humble avis il n’a pas survécu jusqu’au Jour du Souvenir de 2012. Le liquide est brun foncée, les bulles sont grosses, le nez est marqué par les cerises. La bouche est il me semble fruitée, acide, contaminée. Dommage

50 cl. Meilleure avant le 25/12/2014. Un liquide brun très foncé et sa mousse bien généreuse. Une dentelle comme décoration. Un nez de café et de cacao avec l’incessant retour du fond de cendrier. Est-ce que j’hallucine? Des saveurs qui vont dans le même sens. Un fond doux avec du cacao et des grains de café à la colombienne. Des mégots de cigarettes? Une bouche bien crémeuse et ses bulles modérées. Une finale sur des grains légèrement amers et toujours aussi cendrés. Plus ou moins intéressant.

Not a big fan of brown ales in general, but this is quite good. Pours with a big white head and relatively spicy and bitter taste.
