COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: We have brewed on this beer on a long time and we finally think it is a should. A very majestic stout with a hint of roasted barley malt, smoke malt, coffee, some spices and to top it all a drop of rum. The beer has been seasoned on oak wood. This beer can stored many years in a dark closet or cellar, but is also ready to drink when it leaves our brewery. Buy an extra bottle and stash it for a special occasion in some years. It will develop like a god wine- only get better and better by the years.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2012 Rerate, 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar. ABV is 11%. Pitch black colour, large brown head. Aroma and flavour mainly as in first sample, but the carbonation helps. The roasty notes come through more distinctly. I’m upping it a few points. Original rating: Cask at Copenhagen Beer Festival, gravity dispense. Black colour, no head nor carbonation. Strong aroma of rum and oak / vanilla. The flavour is quite oaky, again with strong notes of rum and vanilla. Quite enjoyable, and would no doubt be better with a little carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a thick black body with medium tan head. Intense aroma, tar, caramel, licorice. Fat body with taste of roasted malts, bitter chocolate, wood, light alcohol hue. Some great and overpowering aromas, but perhaps not the most balanced.

Bottle: Nice small vast brown foamy head on top of a black beer. Smell liquorice, roasted malts, tar and chocolate. Taste is a good mix of smoked wood, burnt malt, spices, pepper, liquorice, coffee, caramel, bitter, dark fruits, earth, light rum, coal and roasted barleys. Good full bitter coffee, wood, liquorice aftertaste. Low carbo, soft light creamy mouthfeel, full body and a light creamy texture. Another good BA imp!

Black with a dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, hard roasted malt, coffee and a little vanilla. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and roasted bitter finish with a little alcohol. Soft. 141109

0,5 l. bottle from SPAR supermarket in the village Sæby nearby the brewery. Black colour with brown hues, tan head that slowly disappers. The aroma is dominated by the malts, I get caramel, coffee and roasted. There is also some weak notes of licorice and rum. Medium sweetness, lots of candy like brown sugar, a "sweet kind" of rum and herbs. Only medium body which is so-so for this style. Oily feel and soft carbonation. Rather shortlived finish for the style. The high alcohol at 11% is not present at all in this ½ litre bottle, so beware! I have mixed opinions about this beer: Its a like a liquid dessert with coffee, but without the full body and long finish for its style. A descent, not a excellent rating.

Sample at Lkpg Beer Expo. Dark brown with a brown head. Slight rum and lots of mud pie. A bit thin for such a strong stout.

Nose is heavy burnt malt, weak coffee acid, later orange, feel is broad and elegant, carb is mediumlow, taste is heavy malt, nice underplayed hoppy middle, then fresh wood chip and a mellow, sweet port finish

Tap at Lompa. Black color with large brown head. Smokey malty aroma with spices, rum and brown sugar. Sweet taste with coffee, oak, rum of course. Body is really filling my mouth. Not easy to drink, could be shared. Enjoyable!
