3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
15th January 2010
Opaque black beer, short lived chocolate coloured head. Light soft and dry palate. Rich dark malt, unsweet dark chocolate. Unsweet woody tones, minerals. Not a bad stout but where is the rum? maybe a light trace of it in the finish. Whisper of banana. Stands on it’s own merit but was hoping for much more.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice basic imperial stout, my rating might be biased because i like the style so much. No noticable alchool and didn’t pay attention if there was rum in the taste or not. If yes then it doesn’t jump at you.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Frothy head, motoroil colour. aromas are banana bread, fruit cake, roast, alcohol and prunes. smoke, caramel are also in the aroma. Hot/boozy note, bitter brew but has a certain lightness about it. an interesting brew and light considering the alcohol.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Fresh hops aroma scent mixed with aromas of roasted malt, brown sugar and tuttifrutti gum. Taste has soft flavors of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate with some hops bitterness. Lovely barrel-fragrance with soft and sweet warm alcohol. Nice burnt nuances in the aftertaste. Amazing and lovely beer! Highly recommended!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml bottle. Black pour with a dark tan/light brown head. Aromas of rum, chocolate, smoke and banana bread. A little boozy on the palate with rum and espresso. The body was a little light, I thought, but this was nine or ten imperial stouts into the night.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught @Viisi Penniä 16.4.2012. Poured black with a thin creamy brown head. Aroma had vanilla, wood, licorice and rum. Flavor was similar, lots of licorice, vanilla, roasted malt, alcohol and some ash. Long roasted finish. Sweet, oily and sticky mouthfeel. Full bodied.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled sample via Fred82 (I think), and shared with oakbluff. Near black in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas of red licorice, molasses, and a bit of chocolate. Flavours are of MacIntosh toffee, chocolate, a bit of roasty black malt, and faint orchard fruit. Only medium bodied, so a bit light for the style. Has a bit of "foreign stout" about it. Quite drinkable considering the alcohol level. Solid.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
50 cl bottle @ ISKTR. Rated on 20.03.2011
Aroma has coffee, some licorice and vanilla. Flavour has some well roasted malt, coffee, licorice and hints of vanilla. Could not locate the rum here – and actually this is rather light stuff for an 11% ABV beer.
