English: We have brewed on this beer on a long time and we finally think it is a should. A very majestic stout with a hint of roasted barley malt, smoke malt, coffee, some spices and to top it all a drop of rum. The beer has been seasoned on oak wood. This beer can stored many years in a dark closet or cellar, but is also ready to drink when it leaves our brewery. Buy an extra bottle and stash it for a special occasion in some years. It will develop like a god wine- only get better and better by the years.

Bottle - 500ml. Pours an opaque black body with low carbonation and a good brown foamy/creamy head. Nice, complex malty/hoppy aroma with roasty and chocolate hints. Alcohol is perfectly hidden. Taste carries rhum and woody notes. Ends with a warming bitter/roasty finish. Good stuff.

Sample @ Porterfestivalen in Gothenburg on November 19. pours black with a thick chocolate brown head. Smell is sweet with chocolate, vanilla, wood and rum. Taste is sweet with roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, fresh wood, rum, molasses, a hint of blue cheese and a slight acidity. Finish is sweet and bitter,

Bottle, merci Pat! Good looking black pour with nice brown head. Aroma is very fruity, lots of dried dark fruits, hints of chocolate and molasses. Taste is light, fruity, not very sweet. Palate is quite light for what I was expecting, with a dry finish. Strange imperial stout, lacking the body I was looking for but still good.

Roasted aroma and taste, there’s coffee, chocolate and vanilla in there as well. A very good full bodied beer! Black with a small light brown head. (tap)

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a super huger dark brown foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of roasted malt mix in with light lactose notes and some subtle fruity ester. Taste is a good enough mix between some medium roasted malt with notes of fruity ester and some light lactose notes though this beer is more dry then sweet in the end. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Good though something is missing to make this beer something I would go for again and again.

A fine slice of brown survives forever over the blackness. Tary burnt sugar nose loaded with molasses, cane sugar and various fruits, darkish in flavor profile - currant, black grapes and berries. Creamy on the palate with well integrated sweet and warming rummy flavors. Grapey and characterful burnt sugar over bread and dark chocolate roastiness warm the soul in the especially long finish despite the limited hop character. I’m not fond of rum at all, but it’s impressively integrated here, highly harmonious and effective. While very sweet - a trait I don’t enjoy in stouts, it does not feel tiresome and never cloying despite its particularly soft fine-bubbled carbonation. Crafty stuff and again with an adorable smoky touch that seems to be a staple at Hornbeer. So all in all, I’m being slightly more severe since the flavor range does not fall in my ball park, but I find the execution admirable.

Pours deep black with a creamy brown head. Sweet and very nice dry plums on the nose, hints of chocolate and roasted sugar-cane. Heavy sweetness on the taste with notes of coffee and some bitter chocolate. Complex flavour. full body, creamy, average to soft carbonation and a dry mid term finish. Good.

Bottle 500ml. Pours dark brown with a minimal brown head. Slightly burnt malty aroma with a hint of nuts. Taste has none of the alcohol the ABV says it should have. Well balanced, but no surprises. Not Bad.
