Bottle 50cl from Mondial de la bière Strasbourg. A deep dark beer with a nice brown head. Smell is intense on dark malt and dry fruits. A very creamy and intense beer, nice malty presence, chocolate notes, finish is long, well balanced, rum side is not easy to detect if we donno it !

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught. Black with a large, light brown head clinging to the edge of the glass. Aroma: smoky, some salami. Taste: salty, sweet, smoky, roasted malts, fruits/berries. Really thick and creamy mouthfeel, lots of flavours, but a pint of this might be too much.

500 ml bottle @ Olutravintola Pannuhuone. Rated @ 11.6.2010.
Pours a beautiful black colour with a medium-sized beige head. Rum comes through at the aroma with roasted malts and coffee. The flavour is nicely roasty with malts, dry hops, rum notes and chocolate. Full bodied, oily to slightly slicky mouthfeel. Yet another great imperial stout.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Too much carbonation in this one. It gushed all over. Anyway, I enjoyed this. The Aroma is malty with chocolate, burnt malts a bit of alcohol and dark fruits. Taste is the same along with a bit of rum-feeling. The body could be a little more robust.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Gushing to dark beige head over black beer. Ureum, stout-like burnt malts, treacle syrup. Dry stout with a creamy, near-sweet background, and a fiery burnt-alcoholic mouthfeel. Rum comes out warming up, with a smoked touch as well. Medium slick, medium to well-bodied. Just a tad too sweet for me, but still very agreable. Pity about the gushing.

Pours out pitch black wit a nice holding brown head. Good sized. Smell of caramel, pancakes, some spices and fruits, and some roastiness. Good smell. Some sourness inside. Nicely roasted chocolate and coffee taste. Some nice caramel sweetness comes up. Nice mouthfeel, a bit oily and a good amount of carbonation. Good brew for sure.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
50 cl bottle, pours deep dark with a tiny creamy head, aroma is rum, chocolate and coffee, taste is coffee and roasted malt with a hint of rum, smooth finish, very surprised by just how light drinkable it really is and I did expect more out of this imp stout everything considered.

50 cl bottle. Dark brown with a thick and foamy tan head. Nose is chocolate, rum and vanilla. Creamy, silky and warming with a mild tingle. Taste is dark rum, molasses and prunes. Dry finish with bitter licorice. The rum provides a wonderful accent.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
odd one brought out by dak on 5/31/10 with a bb date of 6/27/2019.
really thick black pour with a small orange tinted brown head.
it smells smoky and roasty with notes of vanilla, caramel, tar, rubber eraser, chocolate and a touch of sourness.
the flavor is fairly equal though a bit too sweet... add in notes of wood and alcohol with a tart-ish finish to complete the profile.
it is medium bodied but seemingly thicker from residuals and an oily texture. 8/4/7/3/15/3.7

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A: Pours a nice deep dark flat black. Thin fizzy head rises as quickly as it dies. No retention or lace.
S: Aromas of roasted malt, dark fruits, cane sugar, and chocolate. The roast is there with hints of acidic coffee.
T: Coffee and chocolate forward. A bit fizzy like most rum barrel beers seem to be. Nice roast with hints of char and light smoke.
M: Thin in body, very zippy mouth feel, almost biting at the tongue.
