COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: We have brewed on this beer on a long time and we finally think it is a should. A very majestic stout with a hint of roasted barley malt, smoke malt, coffee, some spices and to top it all a drop of rum. The beer has been seasoned on oak wood. This beer can stored many years in a dark closet or cellar, but is also ready to drink when it leaves our brewery. Buy an extra bottle and stash it for a special occasion in some years. It will develop like a god wine- only get better and better by the years.

odd one brought out by dak on 5/31/10 with a bb date of 6/27/2019. really thick black pour with a small orange tinted brown head. it smells smoky and roasty with notes of vanilla, caramel, tar, rubber eraser, chocolate and a touch of sourness. the flavor is fairly equal though a bit too sweet... add in notes of wood and alcohol with a tart-ish finish to complete the profile. it is medium bodied but seemingly thicker from residuals and an oily texture. 8/4/7/3/15/3.7

A: Pours a nice deep dark flat black. Thin fizzy head rises as quickly as it dies. No retention or lace. S: Aromas of roasted malt, dark fruits, cane sugar, and chocolate. The roast is there with hints of acidic coffee. T: Coffee and chocolate forward. A bit fizzy like most rum barrel beers seem to be. Nice roast with hints of char and light smoke. M: Thin in body, very zippy mouth feel, almost biting at the tongue.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2014 Rating #331, sample from Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010

Appearance is black with redbrown "edges", beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, caramel and smoke - no traces of rum yet, but quite pleasant stout-aroma. Taste is likewise roasted malts, coffee, caramel and smoke, but the finish reveals some sweetness coming from berries or raisins: This must be the rum. Actually a good brew, and a nice "bastard" beer. Body was expected to be thicker when having the ABV in mind, else the beer is soft, creamy and a bit oily. Let alkoholsmag. Blød og tyk fylde. Næsten ens score siden første gang: 7-3-8-4-16 = 3.8

Tab @ CBF. Opaque black with a frothy light brown head. Aroma has coffee, roast, smoke, dark berries, some sweetness. Taste has coffee, rum, booze, a little oak, dark chocolate, very subtle indeed - easily drinkable. Medium body, soft carbonation, medium to long duration. A nice beer.

Bottle@home Apperance: Black as motoroil with a creamy brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, Rum, Coffee, Caramel. Flavor: Rum, Dark chocolate, Grain, Dark caramel, Mild coffee. Palate: Very little carbonation. Liquid is smooth and filling without being thick. First taste is somewhat coffeebitterish but it ends sweet with a hint of rum. Lovely. This was a very pleasant stout. Just the way i like it with a balanced sweetness from the rum. A beer to sip on for an hour or two.

Tasted 2010-03-18. I prolly shouldn’t have had this one right after Beer Here’s Mørk Pumperbickel Porter, ’cause that may have influenced my buds. Either this one is excactly like Beer Here’s Beer (which wouldn’t be a shame), or it’s pretty damn close. Either way it’s very drinkable. It’s way higher on ABV than Pumpernickel, which puts it somewhat below it IMO.
