English: We have brewed on this beer on a long time and we finally think it is a should. A very majestic stout with a hint of roasted barley malt, smoke malt, coffee, some spices and to top it all a drop of rum. The beer has been seasoned on oak wood. This beer can stored many years in a dark closet or cellar, but is also ready to drink when it leaves our brewery. Buy an extra bottle and stash it for a special occasion in some years. It will develop like a god wine- only get better and better by the years.

Bottle 50 cl at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Poured pitch black in colour with thick creamy head. Leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Lots of roasted coffee and liqourice in aroma. Many different kinds of coffee-like flavours at first. Felt quite mild, had much flavour and is a very complex beer on the whole, yet beeing simply good. Some sweet notes mixed with coffee equals in a great taste with very intensive flavours and so much different things going on. Very ’filling’ beer with some sweet notes pushing through. Aftertaste is very smooth, just like black velvet.

Test vom 27.12.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,11,12,12,-,12 - 11,84

@CBF. Pours black with a brown head leaving some lace. Aroma is very malt, coffee, rummmy, a bit acidy and caramel. Flavor much like the aroma with nice sweetness and warming alcohol. Finishes sweet and fruity. Very nice.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2012 Rerate, 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar. ABV is 11%. Pitch black colour, large brown head. Aroma and flavour mainly as in first sample, but the carbonation helps. The roasty notes come through more distinctly. I’m upping it a few points. Original rating: Cask at Copenhagen Beer Festival, gravity dispense. Black colour, no head nor carbonation. Strong aroma of rum and oak / vanilla. The flavour is quite oaky, again with strong notes of rum and vanilla. Quite enjoyable, and would no doubt be better with a little carbonation.
