COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: We have brewed on this beer on a long time and we finally think it is a should. A very majestic stout with a hint of roasted barley malt, smoke malt, coffee, some spices and to top it all a drop of rum. The beer has been seasoned on oak wood. This beer can stored many years in a dark closet or cellar, but is also ready to drink when it leaves our brewery. Buy an extra bottle and stash it for a special occasion in some years. It will develop like a god wine- only get better and better by the years.

Negra con espuma. Aroma a café torrefacto. Cremosa, poco gas. Sabor a café, algo de chocolate. Rica. Buena imperial stout.

Bottle 0.5 l @ home. First of all, I love the artwork on Hornbeers products! Awesome! About the beer, it pours black with almost no head. Aroma is delicate, but vague. Coffee is dominant, but as it warms up a little there?s even a nice sweetness. Taste is interesting, with heavy coffee, roasted malt and also rum. Some alcohol detectable in aftertaste, but not an issue. Medium bodied. Different from recent Imperial Stouts I?ve tried, but nonetheless a very nice beer!

500 ml bottle shared by Doodler (thanks Scott!) poured a clear dark reddish brown nearly black with a lasting brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, rum, oak, cocoa and alcohol. Palate was full bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bakers cocoa, light rum and light oak with a smooth lingering cocoa finish.

On tap @ Animal. Black with a tan head, very creamy and dense, good lasting and nice lacework. Aroma has roasted malts notes, with hints of wood and ashes, malts and ripe fruit are present as well. Flavor is roasted and toasted malts, licorice, coffee, slightly bittery but fine compensated with alcohol, notes of wood. The final is bittery, strong coffee with a good duration. In the aftertaste we can find notes of dark rum with wooden hints.

On tap at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell. Black with a good pale brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, molasses, and the subtlest hint of rum. Creamy mouthfeel, full bodied, bittersweet on the palate with a little harsh booze on the finish. Taste is dark chocolate, dark rum, raisins, brown sugar, oak, roasted malts. Good but just a touch too harsh at the end.

Keg at Craft Islington, 19/09/13. Dark black with a moderately sized dirty tan head that retains well. Nose is big roast malts with dark chocolate, light run and raisen back waft. Taste comprises sweet chocolate notes, roast malt blast furnace, brown sugarsm dark toffee fudge, light rum notes. Medium bodied with oooomph, fine carbonation but over cooked. Decent enough impy let down a little by the spritzy feel. The rum is well integrated into the beer though so not the sweet sticky messy it could have turned into with the wrong brewer at the helm!

Could have been called Rum and Raisin. Lovely aroma with a really balanced rum presence throughout.

Tap at CBC Brixton. Pours a dense black/brown with a tan head. Aroma is coffee, choc and prune juice. Medium to full body, fine carbonation which makes it tinglier than most big stouts I've had. And this is big and sticky. It's coffee initially, then the dark fruits - prune, figs. The rum isn't massive, just present. There's treacle too, and a meatiness with soy/teriyaki. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
