English: We have brewed on this beer on a long time and we finally think it is a should. A very majestic stout with a hint of roasted barley malt, smoke malt, coffee, some spices and to top it all a drop of rum. The beer has been seasoned on oak wood. This beer can stored many years in a dark closet or cellar, but is also ready to drink when it leaves our brewery. Buy an extra bottle and stash it for a special occasion in some years. It will develop like a god wine- only get better and better by the years.

Pours pitch black with a toffee colored head that lingers for a while. Nose is boozy, with rum notes and a considerable amount of roasted malt. Flavor-wise there is a good malt backbone shining with a decent amount of sweetness covered by roasted malt that comes out ashy at times (which I despise usually, but this time I’m able to get over it). Alcohol is well hidden and the syrupy mouthfeel from the restrained carbonation makes the experience really enjoyable only in small quantities.

Draft @ cockney pub in Aarhus. Aroma of rum, black malt, liquorice. Black colour with tiny tan head. Moderate bitterness, moderate sweetness, coal, akcohol. Finish is sweet, oily texture, light carbonation.

Pours pitch black into a teku, with a nice medium head (disappears pretty fast). Aroma: a lot of chocolate and coffee, dark fruit, raisins, wood barrel and some rum aromas. Taste: sweet hints of chocolate followed by the type of bitterness one knows from dark chocolate, with some coffee elements and a slight touch of rum (however, I am not 100% sure this is indeed rum I taste here). Palate: nice warming coming from the alcohol, leaving also a pleasant, not too strong hoppy aftertaste. In this beer, I can definitely smell more rum than taste it. Nevertheless, this is a fantastic stout. I have enjoyed it in a temperature which I think was a bit too high (15 degrees Celsius), but it still was great and absolutely no unpleasant aromas/taste were present.

Sóskávé illata, rumos étcsokoládé aromája szökik a légtérbe a kakaó-barna habpaplan alól, ízében pedig visszaköszön a rum csípős éle, ami a földes, kávébabos kesernyésséget öleli körül. Megnyerő kompozíció, remek dán imperial stout.

Keg at Hoppy Loft, 8th September 14. Some chocolate some vanilla, the rum is there, but not so well integrated into the beer, it’s added, not barrel aged and it shows. Still OK impy

Tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours thick black with a big, frothy, brown head. Aroma has chocolate, some smoke, bitter wooden notes, a big roast, some dark, dried fruits and licorice. The taste do have a noticeable rum flavor, but you can tell that it’s added rum, since the barrel’s wooden, dry flavor doesn’t blend very well. I think it might be the alcohol that doesn’t have that same round taste that you are used to. Still some pretty nice chocolate, roasty and licorice notes. A fine stout, but i’m not thrilled with the rum-addition. medium-low carbonation
