COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: We have brewed on this beer on a long time and we finally think it is a should. A very majestic stout with a hint of roasted barley malt, smoke malt, coffee, some spices and to top it all a drop of rum. The beer has been seasoned on oak wood. This beer can stored many years in a dark closet or cellar, but is also ready to drink when it leaves our brewery. Buy an extra bottle and stash it for a special occasion in some years. It will develop like a god wine- only get better and better by the years.

Pours pitch black with a toffee colored head that lingers for a while. Nose is boozy, with rum notes and a considerable amount of roasted malt. Flavor-wise there is a good malt backbone shining with a decent amount of sweetness covered by roasted malt that comes out ashy at times (which I despise usually, but this time I’m able to get over it). Alcohol is well hidden and the syrupy mouthfeel from the restrained carbonation makes the experience really enjoyable only in small quantities.

50 cl. bottle at home shared with girlfriend to accompany a Beeramisu (!) where the ladyfingers were soaked in this brew instead of a liquor. And it worked! Great dessert and this extremely rich brew once again showed its powers. Dark, intense, with notes of smoke, coffee, oak are dominant though in this particular batch, the rum was not too prevalent. Not very fizzy, but then the bottle had been opened for a while when we enjoyed it. As the bottle had a 2022 last sell by date, it was a pretty young example and they do get better with age. Won awards when it was introduced in 2008 and it still holds up. If you are a Porter/Stout enthusiast, you must try this mamouth!

One of the best beers yet. Rum barrell ageing should be tried by more. Lovely rich aroma and creamy feel. Long lasting nice taste.

Keg at Craft. But of rum in the nose, but the taste is just roasty and oaty. Bit of sweet vanilla. Nice but maybe a bit too boozy, although I can’t taste it. (seems I was smashed)
