4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A lot of flavours. Chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, rum and roast. The carbonation seems now to be fixed from earlier bottles. Great balance.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
From tap. Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, melasse, raisins, soy sauce, light coffee and licorice. Taste is very heavy on the roasted malts, licorice, soy sauce, no rum character at all. Thin body - especially for an 11% beer. Not my kind of imp. stout.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
(Hornbeer Caribbean Rumstout) Bottle 500 ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 11%
Pitch black colour on the body, one full finger of dark brown head on top, thick and a bit creamy too, with great retention.
Aroma has hints of smoke, roasted malts, vanilla, light alcohol, some chocolate.
Taste also of roasted malts, smoke, meat, light rum but it’s there, alcohol notes every now and then, chocolate, vanilla, some fruity touches too.
Thcik body, carbonation just right. Sticky palate.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours clear, black, nice head. Aroma is good chocolate and a little bit alcohol. Better chocolate in taste, good goffee too, which lasts long in aftertaste. For me a little bit to high carbonated.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
It’s a great imperial stout, but it’s not perfect in any aspect. Really nice roasty, toasty, malty, chocolate and coffee aroma, full of rum notes as well, but it’s not punching you right in the nose as I was hoping it will. The same is with mouth feel - rich and almost full, but it’s not pours around your mouth with this huge density and thickness. Taste is great though. So rich, so multidimensional.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Brownish black (as very strong coffe with cocoa), 1 finger of brown head.
Aroma: dark chocolate, cocoa. Hint of coffe and dark fruit. Some alhocol.
Taste: again, mainly cocoa and dark chocolate with some porto/sherry notes.
Palate: full body, low carbonation.
Overall: dont get that rum too much. In fact, it taste same way as I remember Vladimir P. from this brewery. Average RIS.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap. Deep black colour with a generous tan head. Good retention. Dark chocolate, light sour, coffee, caramel, light rum, liquorice and wood in the aroma. Soft to average carbonation and full creamy bodied. Taste is quite balanced with the sweet notes being softened by the roasted coffee and black chocolate notes. A bit of rum notes coming in the aftertaste that could be more soften. Overall, a very good beer.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Copenhagen 28/9 2015. 50 cl bottle. Gift from my in-laws. Drawing of pirate discovering a barrel of rum and looking appopriately happy about it on the label. Pours jet black with beige head. Settles as thin layer of foam. Aroma is dark roasted malts, bitter coffee and licorice. Soft carbonation and thick oily palate. Flavour is nicely balanced between sweetness with licorice, a little sweet rum maybe and bitter coffee. Aftertaste is mostly sweet and quite long. Finish is slightly burning from the not insignificant amount of alcohol. A nice after dinner stout.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Thick as oil with dense dark brown foam. Lovely rich aroma of coffee, smoke and licorice spreading. The taste is very full-bodied coffee, English licorice and a nice warm feeling with clear touches of dark sweet rum. Palate is creamy and with lingering aftertaste, which include smoked malt.
