500 ml bottle, probably from Voldby Købmandsgåtd. ABV is 8.8%. Cloudy brown colour, large off-white head. Sediment in the bottle. Aroma of Belgian ale yeast, brown malts. brown kandij sugar, dark dried fruits and caramel, mild spicy notes. Medium sweet flavour, with the same elements as in the aroma. No funk, but a very pleasant abbey beer to drink.

Det här är en rätt bra öl men den slår inte helt rätt, dock kan jag inte riktigt sätta fingret på vad det är. Ölen är grumligare än två år gammalt akvarievatten vilket ger mig ett gott första intryck, smaken är ’jästig’ och ’funkig’ med mycket sötma. Och balansen lämnar mig med ett stort och hjärtligt leende på mina läppar.

Pours dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, some sourness, wood and dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a slightly dry, caramel and fruity finish. Body is medium to full, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

(Bottle). Flavor of yeast, fruit, caramel malt and alcohol. Not really disgusting but also not something you want to drink a lot more of. Hmm ... "Funky" does not seem to be a good indication for good beers from Hornbeer, compare Funky Elf.

Pours murky brown color with a small head. Aroma of yeast, ripe fruits, caramel malts and spice notes. Flavor of ripe fruits, yeast, malts and toffee. A bit messy.

Hazy mahogany color with small head; there is a lot of yeast under the cap. The aroma of malt is sweet, a bit fruity and dusty, with some alcohol and light chemicals; it was found previously in American attempts to the style. Sweetish, caramellish, a bit dusty, with afterflavor of soil, very light fruitiness, low bitterness, alcohol perception, and lack of soul.

Brown and foggy with white head. Smells of redwine and sourale. Taste sweet grapes with some hints yeast. Medium carbonation.

En nariz notas ácidas, frutas del bosque y resinas con fragancias florales. Un gentil malteado precede al persistente y extra-seco amargor. Cuerpo ligero y carbonatación suave.textura oleosa y densa. Lúpulos frescos en el intermedio permanecen en el seco y amargo final con toques tartáricos. Madera fresca en el retrogusto. Bien equilibrada con las maltas aguantando en linea. Refrescante. On-tap. Flute glass. Enjoyed on agt´12. Pours ruby in color, clear appearance. Light pink froth creates a creamy, rocky & lasting crown. Copious rings on sides.Acidic notes, berries & resins to the nose. Floral fragrances. Gentle maltiness followed by remainig extra dry bitterness. Light body. Soft carbonation. Oily & buttery texture. Fresh hops in the middle linger into a dry bitter finish with tartaric touch. Fresh wood on the aftertaste. Well balanced since malts stand up on line. Refreshing.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2013 Bottle @ astral beers. It pours dark with a huge beige head on top. Flavor and taste are caramel, toasted malt and candi sugar with a lot of sour. Good beer
