2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Biggish beige lasting head. Deep red body with small particles. Wooden oily lacquer aroma with spicy treacle notes. Dry-sweet and faintly acidic wooden lacquer taste with spicy peppery notes. Mid-bodied. Mild mouthfeel. Bitter yeasty lacquer aftertaste with earthy muddy notes. Now this was a real mess. Infection? Yeast issues? Anyway, need to rerate. (0.5l bottle, ?, BBD 2013-03-22.)

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a murky brown with a beige head, and a fair bit of lacing. Sharp hop aroma; pine at first, but also citrus as it warms. Slightly candy-like and with a malty backbone. Nice, but with lots of plastic notes though, increasing as it warms, which sort of ruins it. Bitter hop flavour on a malty background, with notes of plastic here as well. Again nice, but ruined a bit by the plastic, although it is easier to tolerate here than in the aroma. Finish is bitter with lingering grassy notes. Overall the beer has a good hop profile and bitterness, but the plastic notes messes things up a bit; would be quite alright without them. 15.06.10.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Dark brown body with healthy, rocky head. Hoppy and smoky nose. Nice flavour of hops, pine and grapefruit. Texture is very smooth and cream. Drank this perhaps a tad too warm - couldn’t wait - but enjoyed it nonetheless.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a nice hazy amber colour with a frothy kahki/beige head. Aroma is frutiy hops, citrus, caramel and has a slight alcoholic note. Taste is dominated by a medium hoppy flavour with notes of grapefuit, some pine and also some grassy notes. It is also fairly fruity and juciy. There is also a malty backbone and a taste of caramel. It has got a medium body, that is fairly dry. Overall a pretty good IPA, which i didn’t expect at all!
