COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

500ml bottle, 7.5% ABV, bought at a reduced price at Ølbutikken, Cph in May 2010. Properly stored and matured in my cellar. Nice bottle design, as always, of reindeer and Santa. Deep, mahogany coloured body topped by a fawn-coloured head. Lacking lacework. Malt-fruity aroma with emphasis on the fruity part. Dried and ripe fruits in flavour with caramel malts beneath, lightly spiced. Citrus hoppy ending. Soft in the mouth. Well balanced, warming and refreshing (Tromsø, 27.12.2011).

Bottle @ Ølfestival, Esbjerg, 2009.
Pours muddy dark brown with a small, staying, beige head. Aroma has coriander, cloves, anise, liqourice, caramel and light berries. Soft carbonation, nice dry mouthfeel. Flavour has oats at first, caramel, spiciness. Cloves, coriander, anise. Long, lingering, spicy and bitter aftertaste with a hint of smoke. Okay.

sayravai (4655) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 12, 2009
Clear, dark red with a smallish, firm and beige head. Lots of Xmas spices in the nose, with dark fruit, berries, and roasted malt. Flavor is strongly smoky, anise-spicy, slightly burned-ashy, sweetish and berryish. Flavor is quite different from the aroma. Indeed a different Xmas brew, but quite good in its own way. The burned smokiness was a bit too much for me, though.

Bottle 50 cl. Hazy dark reddish amber with a small, off-white head. Nose is rich with sweet spices. Quite full-bodied, spicy ginger - perhaps even a whiff of chili? Caramel and fruits. Very subdued bitterness. 221009
