COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: “…rør blot ikke ved min gamle jul..” sådan hører vi hvert år, Bo Bendixen synge fra “Sikke en voldsom trængsel og alarm” Sådan er det også med juleøllet. Det har sin plads blandt mange andre tradtioner. Juleøllet har alle dage været kraftigere øl end hverdagsøllet – Hornbeer Juleøl er ingen undtagelse. Den holder sine 7½ pct. Vi har i år valgt at brygge vores juleøl efter belgisk forbillede. Der er anvendt gær fra belgisk trappistøl, og der er krydret ganske lidt. Der er smag er frugter, karamel og jul. Vi tillader os at citere Carsten Bertelsen fra bogen 24 juleøl. “Juleøl skal tages alvorligt, ellers ka’ det være det samme. For så kan vi lige så godt drikke den øl, som vi plejer i hverdagen. Vore forfædre indviede det godt indbryggede og krydrede juleøl med højtid, så derfor må velsmag og godt håndværk – i det mindste – være vor tids offer til guderne” Vi er helt enige i synspunktet: stå vagt om en god tradition, nemlig den gode juleøl.

Bottle@home . Pours slightly hazy, medium dark with a tan head. The aroma is malty, and some spices. I also sence a sour note in the nose. The flavour is sweet caramel, and some spicy notes. Mouthfeel ok, but not more than that. Quite simple this beer is.

Bottled. Pours hazy, dark amber with a pale brown, to fingers high and mostly lasting head. Nose of pleasant malt, yeast and with hoppy notes. Medium sweet flavour of caramel, bread and with spicy notes. Medium body with a slick texture and low carbonation. Slightly bitter finish. Nice and balanced.

Bottle shared by Nnudd. Dark brown body with medium light tan head. The aroma is light roasted, chocolate and light spices. Sweet caramel. Sweet caramel, spices, yeast and chcolate in the flavour. Sweet caramelish finish with a distinct sour note.

Pours muddy brown with a smal, creamy, yellowish head. Aroma is sweet, some slight anise liqourice, chocolate, toasted caramel, coriander. Medium carbonation, light creamy palate. Flavour is sweet, malty, Belgian sugar, coriander, milky chocolate. Light spicy finish with a hint of cinnamon. Fine and balanced, yet just missing something to make it stand out.

Draught. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. moderate malty and hoppy aroma. moderate bitter spicey flavor. Cinnamon notes. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate.
