COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle 500ml.

Unclear medium to dark orange amber color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy and open, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, spicy, moderate yeasty, fruity, anis, a mess IMO. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, spicy bitter, very messy more like a home brews version of a belgium xmas beer. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20101207]

Draft. An unclear brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of hops, malt, and caramel, as well as lighter notes of smoke. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and smoke, leading to a dry, bitter finish. A nice beer - but christmas? more like the burning of the christmas tree tradition that exists in some countries.

On tap. Hazy, dark orangey brown with a beige head. Sweetish aroma of brown sugar, Christmas spices and Belgian yeast. Full-bodied, sweet caramel, coriander, star aniseed and again Belgian yeast. Hardly any hops to balance the sticky sweetness. Many would probably consider this a "true" Christmas beer - to me it’s just a sticky mess really. 091110

Bottle, 7.5%. Sweet roasted aroma, hint of cough syrup. Cloudy, muddy red brown colour. Fruity flavour, quite spicy. Some cinnamon, hint of mild bread, very weak aniseed. A mixture of many different spices, I think. Late cherry sourness to balance. I wonder if there is fruit in there at all.
