70 pct kakao. Men Hornbeer Russian Imperial Stout går altså også fint alene!

Pitch black pour with a thick brown head. Aroma of heavily roasted malt with chocolate. Flavor of roasted, almost smoky malt with chocolate and a bitter finish. The body is medium to full with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. It’s a good beer, but it’s definitely my least appreciated from Hornbeer’s many imperial stouts. It just lacks some personality.

Black. Coffee aromas, toasted malt, chocolate. Sweet taste with dark dark malt, coffee and chocolate. Some hops adding bitterness to the finish. Pretty dull.

500 ml bottle. BB 01/09/13. Mange tak Timo A! Black color, small tan head. Roasted malt, alcohol, sweetness and burned white fish in the aroma. The flavor is roasted malt, sweetness, spices, alcohol and sugar. Nothing really wrong with this but a bit boring for an Imperial Stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a jet black body with a massive cloudy caramel-hued beige head. Nose is dark berries, coffee, grains, caramel and hints of licorice and leather. Taste is bitter herbs, dark chocolate, coffee, caramel and hints of grains and dark berries. Medium to full body, medium to high carbonation. Not bad, but the high carb levels and bitter herbal hoppy notes makes it a bit harsh around the edges. Decent enough, but certainly no winner in this weight class.,

Old rating rerated 20.03.2016, 0,5l bottle @ home:
Huge slightly fizzy-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly sour-ish mineraly, weeds, bark, roasted grain, hops, sour coffee, licorice, burnt toast, co2 stinging in the nose. Taste is sour-ish roasted, weeds, sour coffee, burnt grain, grass, minerals, burnt toast, bark, licorice, pine needles, paper. Medium to longlasting bitterness, sour-ish harsh mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea.

Bottle (500 ml) at home. Best before 06-06-2017. Pitch black with a frothy large persistent brown head leaving good lacing. Aroma is of fudge, vanilla, roasted malts, coffee, raisins and mild spiciness. Taste is sligthly sweet, mildly acidic and quite fruity with raisins, roasted malts, chocolate and hints of vanilla. Medium body, but a bit thin for the style. Medium carbonation. Fruity finish. Short aftertaste. Decent flavorful RIS but thin on the mouthfeel and a bit too acidic for my liking.

Look; beige top, black body, some circular lacing. Artwork label. Aroma; roasted malts, dry dark fruits, coffee, earth, peat, cocoa, tar, liquorice. Taste; roasted malts, coffee, dark cocoa, dark fruits, sour fruit notes, soy, tar - finishes in juicy roasted malts, lingering, mmmmmmm. Feel; juicy first, somewhat dry later. Overall; quality tsar stout. [50cl btl 8.1%abv BB05.10.2020
