Dark red-amber beer under a small yellow head. Fruity nose with prominent sour cherry and oak. Fruity taste, old wood, cherries and musty prunes. Spritzy MF, and a very long fruity aftertaste. Excellent fruitbeer, quite lambic-like.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 KnutAlbert (5186) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 29, 2012
Bottle from Vinmonopolet.
Fine balance, vinous, sweet and sour, pleasant enough.
But I get the feeling that most of the sour ales from breweries who usually don’t make this type of beer feel like they come from the same chemistry set. You get a nearly identical result. More experimental, please!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 abemorsten (1861) - Mosterøy, NORWAY - NOV 21, 2011

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Foffern (737) - Bodø, NORWAY - APR 27, 2012
Bottle at home. Has a hazy reddish brown colour with small off-white head. Aromas of oak, leather, sour bitter berries and spices. It’s less sour in the flavour than expected, with grapes, sweet cherries, other berries, wood, and is vinous and dry in the end. Light bitterness, and has a light and slick mouth feel. A mild but round and balanced, tasteful sour ale, but maybe a bit sweet. I would like to have this as a companion to salty dishes.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 esp0r (1259) - NORWAY - NOV 6, 2011
Bottle enjoyed at home
Brown, thin tanned head. Smells of malts, apple, berries and hints of caramel. Taste is quite malty for a sour, some sweetness to follow up the malts. The sour acids then come and makes this a refreshing experience. Then add some hints of salt from the carbonation and a distinct bitter finish and you get a beer that brings the whole tounge palate to work. Interesting beer, maybe some more time in the cellar can bring more brett-feel to this beer?
