COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. Pours hazy light orange with real big frothy thick white head, long lasting. Aroma is hoppy, bit harsh, grass, bready malts, some fruits and spices. Taste starts sweet and mellow, but turns sharp hoppy. Too bitter finish. Some earthy clove. Nice medium body for a lager.

Ernest (6343) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 12, 2013
Bottle from Kihoskh, Copenhagen (BB Aug 2015). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy dark yellow to light amber, unfiltered. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (biscuit/bread, cookie), lightly hoppy (apricot, flowers), with notes of kumquat, persimmon, butter. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, creamy/watery texture, lively carbonation. A reasonable rendition, if maybe a bit ale-like, and while the diacetyl isn’t desirable, it’s the type that complements the biscuity malt (like real butter, not the imitation popcorn spray). Quite fruity and soft.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2014 Old rating, 0,5l bottle @ home:
Kjedelig.

Hazy blond color with creamy head. The aroma shows some green hazelnuts, grass, glue, yeast. Cereals flavor, but the too high carbonation spoils it a bit, as well for the too high bitterness.
Surely unfresh, no more pleasant.

Bottle from Vika. Clear golden color, no head to speak of. Grainy aroma, sour hop stench. Taste is also pretty sour, with sweet malt, and a sticky sweet finish, aftertaste of vegetables. What went wrong Hornbeer, your beers are usually awesome?
