Sample from bottle, CBF 2011. Black colour, with brown hues, tan head. The aroma has roasted malts, salty licorice, coffee, chocolate, hops (citrus) and some weak alcohol notes. Full-bodied and medium sweetness. Long lasting finish with roasted malts and licorice, combined with some bitterness. This is a complex beer, and one of Hornbeers best.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
27-MAY-2011, bottle @Copenhagen BeerFestival 2011.
It is black all right with low brown head.
Fantastic impy stout with all the roasted stuff like liqorice, bread, coffee, and chocolate. But also barrel notes come through; like oak and vanilla.
On top of that hops. Quite bitter.
So smooth, so barrel aged. A bit low on carbonation. Ends really roasted and hoppy bitter.

Rating #582, sample @ CBF ’11
Ok standard impy apperance. Aroma of liqourice, chocolate, tar, smoke, piss, shit, ropes, bulwark and cigar. Flavor has wood, vanilla, sweetness, chocolate, ropes, tar, smoke, fee’ hegn. Soft, thick. This is a really nice one. I’ll probably buy the bottled version to store it a couple of years.

50 cl bottle at 3 Små Rum, Göteborg. On May 24, 2011. Shared with Roffe that got it for me on my birthday :) Thanks!
Black color, dense light brown head. Alcohol, green banana, sweet, chocolate scent. Sweet, chocolate, grainy, coffee taste. Coffee aftertaste. Full smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Rather dry mouthfeel and taste in the end. Honey also comes though.
