Bottle@home. Pours pitch black with a dark-brown head, with lots of lacings. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and hops. Also a note of rasin. Taste is rather sweet and bitter at the same time, but also dry from the hops. Body is full, with a nice creamy, thick mouthfeel. Quite high carbonation, for this kind of beer. Ends with a warming feeling from the well hidden alcohol and a nice hoppy finish. Really great beer.

Bottle at Valhal. Black with a midium off-white head. Aroma and flavour of chocolate, roasted malt, hops and caramel.

Bottle. Low fluffy brown and quickly disappearing head. Pitch black body. Relatively sweet roasted malt aroma with coffee and cocoa as well as nutty notes. Sweet cocoa coffee roasted malt flavor with a nice hops bitterness. Low carbonation and a long sweet aftertaste. Alcohol level nicely hidden by the sweetness.

Black colour. medium light brownish head. Hoppy and roasty aroma with some chocolate and liqourice. Good mouithfeel indeed. Pleasant roasted maltiness with bitter hops, some chocolate, liqourice and a good moderate bitterness. Roasted malt, bitter hops and some liqourice in the finish. Nice!

pitch black, nice smooth dark brown head.
very nice full raosted/grainy stout aroma, quite hoppy.
flavor is roasted grains, oatmeal, herbal sweet hops, hard roasted sweet malts towards the end, dry hoppy balance, a little bit too herbal sweet, but otherwise a very tasty imp. stout.

Bottle at Valhal Ølfest 2011. Pitch black - brown head. Roasted, coffee, burned malts, wooden, nice high hoppy, smokey, tarmac, resin, bitterness, caramel, dark chocolate, nutty, licorice. Nice bitter finish.

50 cL bottle at Valhal. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is rather hops fruity, dark roasted malt and sligh tarish. Lingering fruity and tarish flavoured. Bitter and dark roasted malt.

Bottle at Valhal.
Black with a brown head. Aroma heavy malty (chocolate, coffee, honey, roasted, oak, licorice) and hoppy. Flavor medium sweet, heavy bitter, lot’s of dry hops, but not to much. Despite the strength not a full body, dry, the alcohol well hidden. Very drinkable. Gratulations.
