Men døm selv.
Brygget med kaffe malt, chocolate malt, black malt og honning, tørhumlet og lagret med egetræ og valnød.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black body with a small caramel head. Nose is leather, red berries, licorice, coffee and hints of wood. Taste is very similar; coffee and licorice are the main elements while wood, leather and red berries linger in the back, with some nutty hints. Very balanced and drinkable for its weight class. Smooth and slick palate, without being heavy or sticky. Probably the best creation from Hornbeer this far, which have failed to impress me significantly.

500mL thanks to Travlr and humlelala. Ink pour with heavy mocha foam. Super dark. Nose is fruity coffee, heavy dark chocolate, fudge, vanilla. Taste is hot chocolate, latte, mocha, massive melted chocolate and fudge. Super rich. Mild spice. Had this bad boy in lieu of coffee on my 4AM cab ride to the airport. Taxi driver didn’t seem to give a crap.

Sample at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Pitch black colour, brown head. Strong roasty aroma and flavour with notes of coffee, liquorice, oak and walnuts. Can’t detect the honey. Not too sweet. An excellent and powerful beer!

Bottle, 11%. The aroma starts off roasted with some liquorice, then turns hoppy. Black colour. Good dark brown head. The flavour is very sweet to begin with. Partially balanced by bitter raw liquorice, alcohol and grassy hops. The aftertaste is roasted as well. Low carbonation, OK mouthfeel.

Very much like their weaker stouts, but cranked up subtly enough that you do not recognise the strength. Very sweet, smooth, roasty, and mellow. Smoothness tends towards slickness later, but it’s still inviting. Very tasty. Great imperial stout, but not one you’d want a large quantity of.

Amazing black body with a dark brown creamy head. Great aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, licorice, a nice bitterness. Full, very low carbonated body. Espresso flavour with dark chocolate, some wood and vanilla. Great.
