COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Men døm selv.
Brygget med kaffe malt, chocolate malt, black malt og honning, tørhumlet og lagret med egetræ og valnød.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours pitch black with a small, creamy, khaki head. Fantastic retention. The bouquet is a mélange of huge fudge, pouch tobacco, blackstrap molasses, vanilla and smoke. Full-bodied and velvety with moderate carbonation. The chocolaty, sweet flavor is nicely bittered, but not as over-hopped as I had expected (the label reads 120 IBU). There are nuances of tobacco and charcoal here. Finishes with a big shot of sweet mocha. Big-time thanks to Plovmand for shipping this world class bottle of beer my way!

Bought at Bistro L’Autre Oiel, Gatineau, Quebec. The surprising taste was that of fir, not spruce. Appearance was black, hazy, brown foam with medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium sourness, full body, slick feel, average carbonation and long finish. Did I mention the surprising taste of fir, not spruce?

Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Deep flavor is along the same lines with alcohol dominating a bit more. Incredibly soft. Excellent.

On tap at Delirium Hoppy Loft. Pours up deep darkness with dark mocha head. The aroma is full of spicy hops, pine hops, black licorice, dark roasted malts, a slight vanilla note and chocolate. The taste is wonderful and hoppy as it begins with bold spicy and pine hoppy goodness as well as dark roasted malts. It then rolls into dark chocolate and molasses to midway and into the finish where the spicy hops surge forward creating a near spicy oak like sensation. Yummy rich delicious hoppy brew.

Eructoblaster (3216) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 26, 2011
Bottle - 500ml. Pours an opaque black body with low carbonation and a lasting brown creamy head. Strong, complex malty/hoppy aroma with chocolate, coffeeish, and some vanilla hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Its well balanced taste carries roasty and brown sugar notes. Ends with a long, warming bitter/roasty finish. Awesome!

Countbeer (4974) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - NOV 23, 2011
Bottle: Yeah, a delicious medium to smaller very vast brown head on top of an oily black beer. This looks promising! Smell is a nice and pretty gentle mix of soft liquorice, kind dark chocolate and dark/light roasted cacao, some light coffee, and even some hops, all very well mixed that it is kind of difficult to smell each on it’s own! Taste subtle earth and tar tones with roasted coffee as well as some roasted malts, some dark bitter chocolate comes through. The bitter dark chocolate, roasted malts and coffee stays for a while to play with your palate. A good dark bitter aftertaste! Low carbo, soft almost silky mouthfeel, full body and creamy light viscous light oily texture. Very well balanced, looks and smells delicious and outspoken in it’s taste and aftertaste.

Mezcalmannen (395) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 10, 2011
Aroma is sort of sweet, but roasty and coffee as well. Taste is mostly sweet, but the finish is very long lasting and bitter. Texture is extremely creamy. Almost entirely black, head is beautiful brown. (Tap)
