COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Men døm selv.

One of my favorite imperial stouts. A lot of different flavours(chocolate, oak, coffe, nuts, honey) in fantastic balance!

Bottle from Canada, merci Mathieuc! Pours a chalky dark black, thick as oil with a meanness to it. To borrow a line from Todd, I would cross the street if I saw this beer walking towards me. Strong aromas of coal, smoke, roast and some black unknown component that makes its presence felt through its sheer will. This beer will dominate you if you let it. This beer would make a cigar city stout cry for its mommy, cradled in the fetal position waiting for Florida homers to rescue it with their overinflated ratings. In short, this beer pulls no punches. There is so much smokey roast in here it’s almost hard to believe. Where the hell are the high ratings for this beer? This beer makes baller stout look like a $1 bill. Jesus. If you don’t like this beer, then you don’t like beer. thick, black, dark, smoke, roast, hops, coffee, chocolate, cigarette butts. This is world class.

Aroma: chocolate, coffee, bread, roasty. Appearance: Big brow cloudy head, pitch black colour. Taste: Sweet, really bitter, lot’s of coffee, chocolate, wood, intense, takes over your mouth. Palete: full body, thick feel, oily feel, long bitterness. I knew I bought a good beer, but this one surprised me and it deserve it’s name The Fundamental Blackhorn. If you want something in between a Dark Lord and a Oaked Yeti. I fell in love and will try to get more bottles for storing!

Bought at Bistro L’Autre Oiel, Gatineau, Quebec. The surprising taste was that of fir, not spruce. Appearance was black, hazy, brown foam with medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium sourness, full body, slick feel, average carbonation and long finish. Did I mention the surprising taste of fir, not spruce?

Ar: sweet, dark and milk chocolate, notes of honey, thick roastiness That is peeping out Behind the rich sweet forefront of the malts, licorice and milky coffee, Ap: thick black colour and a medium creamy Brown head. T: first Comes a short Burst of chocolate, which is quickly overpowered by heavu roastiness, burnt espresso, ash, smoke, after this Comes a soft note of vanilla, honey, fruity hops make a subtle appearance with a floral bouqet of notes, ending in a lingering bitterness and a warming finish. Extremely complex and layered in a way you very seldon find in an imp, or in any beer, this is extremely refined. P: small Lively bubbles, thick mouthfeel. O: this is very good, extremely refined, very sophisticated beer.

Bottle from Hökeren. Pours thick, pitch black with one of the darkest brown heads I’ve seen. Reddish lacing when turning the glass. Aroma has hemp rope, smoke, vanilla, cherries, chocolate and some small alcohol notes at the end. Taste has a big portion of really strong coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, sweet notes (syrup/molasses), cherries, liquorice, some burned notes. Bitter and sweet after taste. Very thick and smooth mouth feel, full bodied, low carbonation. Complex, balanced, very drinkable and alcohol is hard to detect.

[Thanks to Cunningham]. Bottled. Black colour with a good beige head, nice lacework and perfect lasting. Aroma is roasty, coffee, red fruits. Flavor is toasty and roasty at the beginning, with notes of strong black coffee, vanilla, wooden notes as well. In the final is maintained the black coffee notes with a high percentage of alcohol and with a decent bitterness. Dense and smooth on palate.
