Sample at SBWF. Powerfull smell with chili, chocolate, coffee and dark bread. Similar taste with a pleasent heat to it. I think they hit a nice level on the chili on this one.

It’s pitch black with a dense nougat head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, light licorice and something spicy that has to be the chili. The flavor has a moderate sweetness and lovely notes of roasted malt, licorice, super light hints of chocolate, and the chili has a very pleasant burn towards and in the finish. Lovely chili stout.

Bottle (Stockholm Beer Festival 2013) - Black with a tan head. Liquorice, malt, coffee and chilli in the aroma. Roasted taste wtih plain chocolate and coffee detected. The chilli is particularly noticeable in the finish and leaves a burning sensation at the back of the throat.

Kolsvart med ljusbrunt skum! Fyllig och en del kolsyra! Doften och smaken är kaffe choklad och lite het chili! Grym öl!

Body is black and head is beige-ish/dirty. The head doesn’t stay too long and doesn’t leave any real lacing. Aroma is ashy, peppery. Not too enticing. Taste is green peppers, dirty water and a lot of heat. Mouthfeel is watery and awkward. Not really good and definitely subpar as far as chili imperial stouts go.

Bottle, at Patrick’s. It’s more or less black, topped by a small, dense, light tan head. The aroma is roasted and chocolatey, with a faint touch of chilli and licorice. Some sweetness in the flavor, with licorice, some chili and lots of mocha. It’s lightly chili warming on the palate, full bodied and soft carbonation. Long finish with a good blend of mocha and chili. 130919

Bottle (500 ml). Black with a medium beige head and little lacing. Aroma of vanilla, vegetal notes, light roasted malt, light chili and light sulfur. Taste is moderately sweet with roasted malt, vanilla, light chili and green peppers. Medium body. Low to moderate carbonation. Chalky mouthfeel. Boozy. Not very complex. Subpar RIS.

pours dark brown with a small but persistent beige head, some lacing patterns. fruity burnt caramel, ashy, hint of acdidity - dark red berry-like, ammoniac and sulfur (!), booze, chili peppers, borderline green peppers, bit of vanilla and chocolate too. moderate carbonation, medium body, very lightly tingling and balanced earthy-resinous finish. ok.
