Pitch black, huge creamy dark brown grey head, nice carbonation. Smell is leather salty iodine. Fenugreek, cheese, eggs, liquorice... very interesting! Mint? Taste is leather, resin, ash. Warm and fizzy. Bitter balances very well against the oily creamy chocolate coffee base. Chili veggie taste. Slight warmth in the throat towards the end. Crisp and fresh.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2016 (on tap) Aroma:chocolate combined with green pepper ,strong chili note. Appearance:jet black, small thick beige head. Taste:medium sweetness, flavour of roastiness, coffee and chocolate, spicy and peppery finish, roasted malts and chili in the aftertaste. Palate:full body, very thick, low carboation. Overall: I’m not a fan of spiciness in any form but in this beer it seems to work.

Bottle from LCBO. In cellar for about a year. Strong aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, molasses, coffee, red bell pepper. Flavours of molasses, chocolate, smoky hickory, hint if red bell pepper. Very smooth light mouth feel. Spice kicks in in the aftertaste. The flavours aren’t really working for me, but it’s not terrible.

Tap @ BrewDog Helsinki. Pours black with a small, dark latte colored head. Aroma is smoke, ash, pepper, liquorice, peat, herbalness. Taste is herbalness and vegetable/pepper. Chili pepper. Roast smoke, some tar, maybe slight oregano? Fairly light really, thin, slight burn begins at the end of your throat.

Пиво ради перца и для перца. Оправда& Да, именно этим они всё-таки выигрыв& свою дозу похвалы. Этого достато& для хорошег& пива.

Bottle--thanks, Julien! Sweet red fruit aroma with delicate dark chocolate and a capsicum accent. Thick, opaque black under a lasting tan sheet. Sweet dark chocolate, raspberry, and very light chili pepper flavour with a moderate bitterness. Medium body, moderate to medium bitterness, smooth and slightly warming.

Tap@ Brewdog Helsinki. Near black, thin brown head. Some sweet candy aroma. Chili burn in flavor, quite sticky and artificial. Not liking this at all.

Rated ke 24.02.2016.

tap@brewdog hki. Black. Roasty, bit porridgy sweet roasty, coffee, jalapenoish things in the aroma. Full bldied, pretty slick, round. Some dusty dirt. A med mild chili burn. Pretty ok. Has the weight and sweetness of a ris to sort of balance the burn, feels bit gimmickey still.

Copenhagen 17/2 2016. 50 cl bottle from Eternellen. Strange drawing of daschhound with water splashing out of it's mouth. I suppose it is fighting the burning chili. Impressive with a beer that declares a durability of almost 10 years. Pours opaque dark brown with dark beige head. Settles as thin layer of foam. Aroma of dark roasted malts, licorice, dark chocolate and coffee. Not as sweet as it sounds. Soft carbonation and thick oily palate. Flavour is very sweet but nicely balanced by medium bitterness and lingering chili burn. Chocolate, vanilla and brown sugar. Coffee bitterness and a nice touch of chili afterburn. Fine dark stout with a twist.

Not sure i’ve ever drank a beer quite like this one. Dark brown, verging on black, with a bubbly, very dark mocha coloured head. The aromas are an interesting blend of cocoa, and chili peppers. You can literally picture your nose up against a shiny pepper as you inhale. Tastes start off dark chocolate, but quickly give way to spicy peppers by mid-tongue and definitely on the swallow. A real winter warmer, between the spiciness and big abv.
