Thick, jet black pour with light brown pour. Aroma of burnt malts, black coffee, molasses, licorice. Molasses, licorice, burnt bread, coffee, rum. Lingering pepper heat. Too boozy and spicy. Whoa.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Written rating from Copenhagen Beerfest.
Pours a dark oily brown with a dense layer of tan head. The aroma is awesome with heavy malts, licorice, dark chocolate and espresso beans. The first sip is offputting with vanilla and licorice and a odd metallic taste. A bit sweet with chocolate and a dessert like flavour. The finish is hot with mild chili flavours, alcohol presence and a smoky flavour. Overall, interesting but not great.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Black beer with a nice dark foam. It smells like a monte/chocolate/kinder liquor with some dark muddy, marsh flora and thick smoke of a cigar. The taste is challenging, as it’s so rich and striking. First impression is some dark dark chocolate filled with depression, than it morphes into swamp herbs to explode in your throat with a burning anise and chili. It’s very hard to drink a whole bottle though. Still, very mesmerising and demonic beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at The Pub, Oslo. Lots of dark chocolate, cherries, liquor, then some warming chili underneath. Very sweet, very chocolaty, more of a dessert than a beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
Whoa this is weird stuff. Taste is mint, liquorice, chocolate and spices. After taste is warm from the chili and kinda reminds of old danish bitters. Either you like it or hate it, but do try it out.
