3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Chocolate, chili and liquorice are all very present in the aroma
Pitch black with beige head that dissipates a bit to quickly
Liquorice and chocolate in the begining rounded of with great coffe bitterness, some of the spicyness of the chilli can be noticed in the finish but it is pretty subtle
full body soft carbonation thick texture
Very nice beer but also very mighty, split a 50 cl bottle on two could have had even less and been satisfied

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20
This beer tastes good, however, all the added ingredients are dominating the taste so you don’t feel the the malt and hops which are the basics of beer. The coffee in the aroma, the licorice and chocolate in the taste and chili in the aftertaste. However these are well balanced, but still i think its to much added to give it an overall grade.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2014 Keg at Craft, Brighton, Friday 7th March 2014 This is realky rather weird. Aroma is hugely floral with smokey liquorice, Loz says burnt liquorice. This could be one of the pipe tobaccos that your great Uncle smoked back in the 70’s. Taste is equally strange a bit too off the wall with floral thing, burnt liquorice and a slight chilli hit. Its ok A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2014 500ml bottle, poured into a snifter glass. Appearance is opaque brownish black with a medium sized thick creamy mocha head, with good retention that left some lacing when reduced. Aroma of chocolate, liquorice and roasted malts. Flavours of chocolate, liquorice, muscovado, roasted malts, vanilla and chili. Taste is light-medium sweet and medium bitter. Palate is full bodied, creamy texture and soft carbonation. A delicious creamy Imperial Stout, with a lot of chocolate flavour and a pleasant mild chili spiciness.

Big bottle. Pours black, tan head. Nose is fudge, chile. Flavour is cool cross of savoury and sweet, I typically don’t care for it but it worked here. Vanilla, licorice. Silken. Mole beer! Great.
