Bottle at home. One year old. Pours a very deep brown to black colour with a light brown, medium head. Roasted aroma with coffee, chocolate truffles and some lactose. The flavour still has a lot of roasted malt with a touch of something sweet. Nice lingering taste, and in the aftertaste there’s some hops and licorice. Slick and soft mouthfeel, and has a light bitterness. A well-balanced strong porter with a nice roasted touch.

Bottle. Fragrant and slightly spicy aroma, crap loads of roasted and caramel malts. Notes of chocolate and licorice. Smooth mouthfeel with a dry finish. The malt character of this beer is truly wonderful. Honey and well integrated alcohol rounds it off. Excellent.

Bottle from Kihoskh, Copenhagen (BB July 2014). Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly lasting. Body is black (almost opaque, flashlight tested). Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate, caramel, roasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of vanilla, alcohol. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, syrupy/velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Good impy stout/porter...somewhat simple but very attractive nose (just the right amounts of the basics, with some flowery hop note for brightness), rich but drinkable, etc. Just a touch too sweet to drink a lot of, but very clean and tasty. Would buy this repeatedly if it were available back home.

PapaVillum (826) - Valby, DENMARK - DEC 8, 2013
---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

What do you drink at a winternight? This porter will do the trick. Smooth as a falling snowflake. There is something odd with this beer thats satisfying in the palate...probable danish black winegums...yumyum

Plummy goodness for the nose. Dark as a nordic winters night. Head is not bad. Not really as much chocolate and honey in the taste as you’d expect. though, Instead, the roasted malt really comes through and licorice is also a dominant feature. Warm and sweet it is not a bad nightcap wrapped in a blanket reading ancient tomes in front of the stove, this time of year.

From tap @ Cockney Pub Aroma of fruit. Not much aroma. Pours black with brown head. Small lasting head. Burnt taste. Dark chocolate. Dark sugar. Round feeling in the mouth. Bitter aftertaste.
