3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Pinball (9728) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 31, 2011
bottle from høkeren.
pitch dark, smooth brown head.
Hard roasted malty aroma, dark malts, faint brown sugar, great dark porter/stout aroma. velvety. balanced.
flavor is roasted malty, slightly herbal grassy and slightly bitter/soursh, watery, flavor is not as good as aroma. Tastes like it was a lot less than 8.6%, I would have guessed 6% or lower. Decent porter, with a stoutish aroma.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 trapez (1443) - Hilleroed, DENMARK - DEC 23, 2011
Bottle. Aroma of malt, dark chocolate and honey. Dark brown colour with light brown head. Roasted malt flavour with some honey and slightly roasted grains. Rather light mouthfeel for a porter. Dry and slightly bitter finish.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Vignale (1404) - Malmö, SWEDEN - DEC 12, 2011
Drucken med på ölföreningens julölsprovning. Portvinsarmoer och muskovadosocker. Lätt vinös, rostad malt, svart bröd, massiv utan att bli för mycket. Troligtvis bra lagringspotential men bra redan nu.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Eructoblaster (2518) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 10, 2011
Bottle - 500ml. Opaque black body with a thick brown foamy head. Superb, complex malty/hoppy aroma with fruity, chocolate, vanilla, and woody hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its well balanced taste carries roasty, coffeeish, and vineous notes. Ends with a robust, long, warming bittersweet finish. Awesome!
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mjs (3665) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 9, 2011
(Bottle, 0.5 l - BBE 08/10/2014, at Pikkulintu, 20111209) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and light brown. Aroma had roasted malts, honey and liquorice. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, ash, honey, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty and bitter. Nice porter where honey was there but in the background.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Boutip (4031) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 2, 2011
Bottle: Poured a thick black color porter with a nice brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry roasted malt with light black chocolate notes and some lactose notes is quite good. Taste is a nice mix between some good notes of lactose with dry roasted malt and some black chocolate. Boyd is quite full with creamy notes and no apparent alcohol. Not bad though I was expecting more complexity out of this one.

0.5 l bottle at Old Brick’s Inn, Jyväskylä. Black color. Thick very roasty aroma with salty, licorice, leather and some boozy alcohol. Slighty sweet firmly roasty flavor with salty licorice, nuts, hint of charcoal and stinging alcohol. Full body, some roasty astringency. Fairly good porter.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 beerbuzzmontreal (3490) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 3, 2011
Pitch black pour with a thick beige head. Aroma of coacoa, it feels lactic too, close to chocolate milk. Flavor of coacoa and lactose, again, it’s very close to chocolate milk, with restrained sweetness, mild roasted malt and mild bitterness. The body is medium with a creamy texture and medium carbonation. I was expeting something more exciting, but it’s fairly decent.
