3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
50cl bottle thanks to Nikolai. Pours opaque black with a thick creamy fawn head. The nose has honey and oatmeal biscuits. The taste has chocolate, some oatmeal biscuits and a fairly elegant finish, although I initially thought the alcohol was a bit big. The palate has a medium to full body, a big creamy texture. Overall, a beer that grew on me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark cola brown beer with beige head. Aroma has bready and roasted malts with chocolaty sweetness and coffee. Flavor has licorice, rye bread, roasted malts and bitterness. Palate is full with quite high carbonation and stinging bitterness. Finishes with heavy smooth bitterness and coffee acidicy with some alcohol. Aftertaste is roasted and licoricy sweet. A strong tasting red vineous porter, enjoyable.

I liked the almost black color with a nice dark head. Awful aroma of sour dishcloth. Did not make me want to take a sip. The taste wasn’t quite as awful though but not good. Got some taste of bark beside the dishcloth taste. Not a good porter in my taste.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap @ Tap10. Black, small tan head. Heavy roasted malt, light smoke, charcoal, bitter dark chocolate, vanilla, dried elderflowers. Medium/full body, oily texture, medium carbonation. Clean. Light dry and lingering bitter finish. Perhaps simple, but it works. Less is more, and I will have one more to enjoy the walk home.

Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. Drukket på RV124 3 Jul 13. Svart. Høyt mokkafarget skum som etterlater litt lacing. Aroma av lakris. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er søt kaffe med innslag av vanilje. Blir nesten umerkelig bitter i ettersmaken og avslutter litt syrlig. KI=6.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Lasting creamy brown body with an opaque body. Nose of ash. Very roasted, dry, gritty and ashtray. Some sweetness but overall pretty yummy and dry. Amazing job hiding the nearly 9% ABV.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500mL bottle, pours black with a medium tan / light brown bubbly head. Aroma is fairly subtle, with light roast, some burnt caramel and dry cocoa. Flavour is more or less the same, resembling more of a stout than a porter due to the roastiness, with an earthy quality that sort of resembles BO towards the end. Decent one, but a bit off the mark.

Keg at Craft Brixton. Black with a beige head that doesn’t endure. Smell - not much going on - ash, hops, TCP. Body is medium, carbonation medium. Taste - ach, TCP abounds…caramel coffee in the background is taken over by TCP. Something must have gone wrong here, but it’s still drinkable. I still managed my half-pint, but I resented paying £6 for it!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. One year old. Pours a very deep brown to black colour with a light brown, medium head. Roasted aroma with coffee, chocolate truffles and some lactose. The flavour still has a lot of roasted malt with a touch of something sweet. Nice lingering taste, and in the aftertaste there’s some hops and licorice. Slick and soft mouthfeel, and has a light bitterness. A well-balanced strong porter with a nice roasted touch.
